  • Had an incredible time sitting down for a GDG Coffee Chat with Jihoo Park, Senior Data Analyst at Warner Bros. Games Montreal! ☕️🎮 This coffee chat took place while wrapping up the Google Developer Groups - McGill University Build with AI & Gala last month. Even after speaking with so many students that evening, she brought genuine energy and insight into talking about what day-to-day data analysis actually looks like within the gaming industry, strategies for navigating a career path in tech alongside the rapid advancements and impacts of AI, etc. Thank you, Jihoo, for your time, mentorship, and transparent advice! Hoping this will open up more conversations to encourage learning as a community!

Putting clubs in your work experience is so NGMI. I've heard that hundreds of times. My answer is always the same: I've learned more running clubs than I ever did at work. This year I threw the biggest tech event in my university's history. 984 attendees. I learned marketing, logistics, networking, and how to stay calm when everything goes wrong. And everything always goes wrong. Here's what nobody talks about: In the age of AI, technical skill is a commodity. The scarce thing is the ability to make people feel something. To pull strangers into a room and make them leave as believers. That's not a soft skill. That's the skill billion dollar companies are chasing. There is nothing like walking into a room full of people who want to change the world. You feel it instantly. The energy is electric. And you built that. Community events are the highest ROI thing any student or founder can do. The smartest companies already know this. Notion, Google, Anthropic, Dex (YC W25), Stan, Polarity - they're not just building products anymore. They're building communities. So if you're young and ambitious, start communitymaxxing. Throw the event. Start the Discord. Show up for people. The best founders I know don't just build products. They build rooms worth walking into. What's the best community you've ever been part of? 👇

  • Build With AI 2026 became the largest Google for Developers community event in Montreal. This event was a true community effort across GDG on Campus chapters at McGill University, Concordia University, and Polytechnique Montréal, with support from local GDGs and GDEs. The afternoon began with a hands-on AI development workshop led by Kiruthika Subramani, followed by her keynote, a presentation of UNI-VERSE by the Google Developer Groups - McGill University Projects Subteam, and finally professional networking within Montreal's developer ecosystem. By the numbers: 980+ registered attendees 125+ industry professionals Representation from Google, Apple, Amazon, Meta, Shopify, Netflix, OpenAI and more. Events like these highlight the power of community bringing together students, builders, and industry leaders to connect and drive innovation.

980+ registered. One stage. Zero room for error. Last week, we witnessed the future of the Montreal tech ecosystem at the BIGGEST tech event in McGill history! But in front of that entire crowd, the real highlight was demoing UNI-VERSE live in front of hundreds of our peers. No pre-recorded videos. No slides-only pitch. Just a live look at what we’ve been building. The energy in the room was electric, and the momentum hasn't stopped since we stepped off that stage. In just a few days, we’ve officially crossed 500+ active users. If you’re at McGill and tired of missing out on the best events, the open beta is live. Come see what the hype is about. Building the "all-in-one" hub for campus life has been a journey of late-night sprints and constant iteration, but seeing the community actually use it to find their next big opportunity makes every line of code worth it. A massive shoutout to the incredibly talented team Google Developer Groups - McGill University: Tiffany Miller, Adyan Ullah, Yueran Lu, Brij-Paul Singh, Ahreum Lee, Anastasiia Nemyrovska, Dalia Blaszczyk, Lune Letailleur, Julien Yang, Georges Abi Chahine, Aaron Shah, Thai Tran, Emma Gailleur, Valère Bardon, Yejia Shen, Jerry Luo, Reswanth Reji Pillai

Grateful to have represented Devpro at Build With AI 2026. Big thanks to Google Developer Groups - McGill University and Google for Developers for putting it together. Was great to be in a room networking with the next generation of students and spending time talking with those who are actively building in the AI space. Also good to connect with teams from Google, Meta, Notion, and see how they're adopting AI today. A lot of good energy in Montreal right now.

On March 17, Build With AI 2026 became the LARGEST tech event at McGill University. As Google Developer Group McGill Lead and lead organizer, I had the opportunity to take this event from ideation to execution. Months of diligent planning from budget, resources, and coordination, pushed me to grow in driving large scale initiatives. We hosted: 980+ registered attendees 125+ industry professionals Representation from Google, Apple, Amazon, Meta, Shopify, Netflix, OpenAI and more. This was a true community effort across GDG on Campus chapters at McGill, Concordia, and Polytechnique, with support from local GDGs and Google Developer Experts. Closing out my graduating year with BWAI 2026, I couldn't be more proud of my talented team and how far GDG McGill has come. This community has given me more than I ever expected, and I’m excited to see the impact it continues to have on campus. Google Developer Groups - McGill University Google for Developers
