Vishva Rodrigo shared thisHTTP Finally Gets a New Method, QUERY For decades, developers have had to choose between GET and POST for search operations. GET is ideal for read only requests, but it struggles with large or complex query parameters due to URL length limitations. POST allows a request body but is traditionally intended for operations that may change server state, making it an awkward fit for read only searches. To solve this gap, the IETF officially standardized the new HTTP QUERY method in June 2026 as RFC 10008. It introduces a safe and idempotent way to send a request body while preserving the semantics of a read only operation. The QUERY method is particularly useful for APIs that need to accept complex filters, GraphQL style requests, SQL like queries, or large JSON payloads without overloading the URL. Unlike POST, clients, proxies, and caches can safely retry or optimize QUERY requests because they are guaranteed not to modify server state. This is a small addition to HTTP, but it addresses a long standing design challenge that API developers have worked around for years. Vishva Rodrigo shared this24 Billion Credentials Exposed: The Return of the Mega Leak (MOAB) If you remember the 2024 Mother of All Breaches (MOAB), a newly discovered dataset has now matched its scale, and may be even more dangerous. Security researchers uncovered an exposed Elasticsearch database containing over 24 billion credential records across 8.3 TB of data. But this is not just another old breach dump. Unlike past mega leaks that were mostly collections of historical breach data, this dataset appears heavily linked to fresh infostealer logs. That means the data may include usernames, passwords, login URLs, and in some cases, session cookies or tokens. For businesses, especially SMEs, this is a serious risk. One stolen browser session can potentially bypass MFA and give attackers access to email, CRM, accounting platforms, cloud dashboards, or internal systems. This is why identity security can no longer stop at passwords. What teams should do now: 1. Shorten session lifetimes for critical business applications. 2. Force logout all active sessions 3. Rotate API keys, SSH keys, and access tokens 4. Implement conditional access 5. Enable MFA everywhere, preferably phishing resistant MFA where possible. 6. Monitor exposed corporate emails and reset compromised credentials quickly. 7. Treat employee devices as part of the security perimeter, because infostealers usually start there. Cybersecurity is no longer only about protecting systems from being hacked. It is also about assuming credentials may already be exposed, and designing access controls that can survive that reality. For years, Firecracker microVMs have powered AWS Lambda behind the scenes. However, developers never had direct access to this execution model. With this announcement, AWS is effectively exposing microVM-based sandboxes as a managed service. Unlike traditional Lambda functions that execute and terminate, Lambda MicroVMs can be started, suspended, resumed, and maintain state for extended periods. This makes them particularly suitable for AI agents, coding assistants, interactive development environments, and other workloads that execute untrusted or dynamically generated code. Many engineering teams have traditionally relied on Docker containers and custom sandbox infrastructure to solve these problems. AWS is now offering an alternative that combines the isolation of virtual machines with the speed and efficiency expected from serverless platforms. As AI systems become increasingly autonomous and capable of executing code on behalf of users, secure execution environments are becoming a critical part of modern software architecture. Context Engineering wraps around the prompt: It ensures the model receives the right information at the right time, such as RAG results, database records, file snippets, or previous task state, without overloading the context window. ReAct Loop is the reasoning pattern: The agent reasons, takes an action, observes the result, and reasons again. Loop Engineering is where automation begins: Instead of manually pasting errors back into a chat, the system can run tools, read outputs, retry, self-correct, and check whether the goal has been met. Harness Engineering is the production layer around the agent: It handles the sandbox, permissions, tool APIs, file structure, logs, retries, validation, safety rules, and the overall execution environment. The future is not just better prompts. It is better systems around the model.

Loop Engineering Is What Comes Next If you think Prompt Engineering is just about finding the magic words to type into a chat box, you are missing the bigger picture. The industry is rapidly shifting. We are graduating from the era of carefully worded inputs to the era of autonomous workflows. We are moving From Prompt Engineering to Loop Engineering. Early AI adoption was all about linguistics. We focused entirely on how to talk to a single AI model. We used hacks, explicit formatting rules, and told the AI to take a deep breath or think step by step. You were essentially a writer trying to coax a perfect answer out of a single prompt. The problem is that single prompts don't scale. If you ask an AI to write a comprehensive 10 page market research report, it eventually hallucinates, loses track of its goal, and gives you generic fluff. A single thought-line is too fragile for complex business tasks. Enter Loop Engineering. Instead of focusing on how we talk to the machine, we are now focusing on how the machine talks to itself. This relies on the ReAct (Reason + Act) framework, where the AI follows a repeatable loop: Thought -> Action -> Observation. Imagine you ask an AI to Make a peanut butter spoon. Thought: I need peanut butter. Let me check the pantry. Action: Open pantry door (using a tool). Observation: The pantry has a jar of peanut butter. Thought: Great, now I need a spoon... (The loop repeats). In Loop Engineering, we connect multiple, specialized loops together so they can pass work back and forth like a corporate department. Loop A acts as the Researcher, digging through the web to verify facts. Loop B acts as the Writer, taking that raw data and structuring a report. Loop C acts as the Editor, reading the draft, finding errors, and passing feedback back to Loop B to fix it. The AI literally manages its own workflow, passing tasks from one specialized loop to another until the final job is perfect. This changes the entire tech landscape. We are moving away from treating AI like a smart calculator that answers questions, and moving toward treating AI like an entire department of digital workers. Prompt engineering is not dead, it just got a massive promotion. We went from being the writers who talk to the AI, to the architects who design how AI talks to itself The future of AI is not about writing the perfect prompt. In the first panel discussion, we pressure-tested real scenarios government teams are facing right now—everything from HR/payroll migrations and phishing-driven breach response, to AI use of citizen complaint data, CDN boundaries for tax portals, and automated welfare decisions at scale. The consistent theme: good outcomes depend on getting the fundamentals right early—data classification, DPIAs, clear accountability, and security-by-design. In the second panel discussion of the day, the conversation moved to what really matters once you’re “across the table” from providers: what’s genuinely negotiable in cloud contracts, and what government customers must insist on—data residency commitments, encryption key custody, auditability that works in practice, breach notification timelines, and credible exit/portability plans. What stood out most was the momentum: it’s encouraging to see Sri Lanka’s public sector leaning in—building capability, asking the hard questions, and shaping a cloud strategy that balances innovation, sovereignty, and citizen trust.
