Not to be LinkedIn on main but when I was in college I thought “networking” meant going to really uptight events and putting on a facade but as I get older I realize that networking happens organically when you’re just nice to people and make friends without an agenda
when people say "tiktok is just dance videos" they are actually saying "i refuse to engage with a massive shift in the way that people use the internet that is implicating over 1 billion monthly active users because i think it makes me seem more intellectual on twitter"
idk if people who aren't in media understand how big a deal it is for @newyorkerunion to get a $55k salary floor. so many entry-level media jobs in NYC pay $30k, which basically means you can only work in media if you have rich parents and/or you're working a second job.
elon banned a bunch of journalists for posting about the elon jet ban but then those journalists realized even if you're suspended you can still join twitter spaces and then they did a twitter space and elon and jason joined and yelled at them and then disabled twitter spaces
This is why tech culture sucks. The creator of Wordle deliberately hasn't tried to monetize the game, but some random dude decides to steal it. The whole spirit of the game is that it's free, ephemeral, and can't be played more than once a day. But who cares if money's involved?
This is absurd. 450 trials at 1am last night, now at 950 and getting a new ones every minute. 12K downloads, rank #28 word game, and #4 result for "wordle" in the App Store. We're going to the fucking moon.
