This afternoon, the Georgia Historical Society joined us at our Store Support Center to officially dedicate a Historical Marker recognizing The Home Depot's lasting impact on Georgia’s business history. Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank started THD with a revolutionary vision and a dream, and our first two stores opened here in Atlanta, Georgia back in 1979. Today was a real full circle moment. We had some of our longest-tenured associates, including some with as many as 46 years with The Home Depot, help commemorate this occasion alongside Arthur Blank himself. It was an honor to stand with these associates, THD leaders past and present, and local officials, to reflect on the people, values, and relationships that have shaped this incredible company over the years. And that legacy lives through our associates now every single day. The Home Depot was recently recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best-in-State Employers in Georgia. I’m incredibly proud of this recognition because it exemplifies what has been at the heart of our company from the beginning: our people! What a meaningful way to celebrate where we’ve been, who we are today, and the legacy we’re continuing to build together.
