Lou Serlenga shared thisHuge shout to the Anyscale engineering team and the Nvidia engineering team for their joint work on GB200/GB300s. Big thank you to Jeremy Krinitt, Tanja Radeva, Jarrod Pflum. Nima Seifi, and James Bourbeau.Lou Serlenga shared thisHave a GB200/GB300 lying around and feel like Ray is missing that extra oomph? One culprit might be where Ray is placing your workers. Today, we’re introducing NVLink Domain-Aware Placement Groups: a new topology-aware scheduling primitive in Ray designed in collaboration with NVIDIA to maximize the effectiveness of Ray on rack-scale hardware and keep your GPUs brrring. Thanks to Mengjin Yan Aaron Li Edward Oakes and our design partners at NVIDIA Connor Pedersen Mathew Wicks for helping this get to prod! :)Maximizing the Power of NVIDIA GB300 NVL72: NVLink Domain-Aware Placement Groups in RayMaximizing the Power of NVIDIA GB300 NVL72: NVLink Domain-Aware Placement Groups in Ray

Lou Serlenga shared thisGreat story and super exciting future for Nscale and Anyscale. I was fortunate enough to be in that meeting 1 year ago at Ray Summit, and to meet Daniel and the Nscale team.Lou Serlenga shared thisA year ago, I sat down with the Anyscale team at Ray Summit. We talked about how we might contribute to Ray and build something together. Today, that conversation comes full circle – we've agreed to acquire Anyscale. Yes, I know. Nscale, Anyscale. It's almost too on the nose, and I promise someone on our team has already made every joke there is to make about it. But honestly, the name is the least interesting part of this for me. At Nscale, we want to build a truly full-stack platform. One where an engineer can come to us for everything, from the power and the data center all the way through to actually running their AI workload, without stitching together five different vendors to get there. We built the infrastructure side first: land, power, data centers, orchestration. Anyscale enhances our software layer. Ray is the framework engineers reach for first when they need to run training or inference across thousands of GPUs, and now it can run natively on our stack. That's the bit I'm really excited about. Ray will remain open source, and Nscale is joining the PyTorch Foundation to support its long-term development, because we want to see it grow faster, not slower. Grateful to the Anyscale team for building something this good, and excited to have them join us. More on the deal via my interview in Bloomberg: https://lnkd.in/dzB9wSJa

Lou Serlenga shared thisSuper exciting!Lou Serlenga shared thisToday we're announcing that Nscale has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Anyscale, the platform built by the creators of Ray that AI engineers use to run workloads across thousands of GPUs. AI is the most consequential build-out of our generation, and it demands infrastructure built from the ground up: energy, data centres, compute, and software, unified under one roof. That has been our conviction since day one, and it is exactly what we have built. Anyscale extends that stack even further, sitting on top of our existing software to give AI engineers everything they need to train, fine-tune, and serve models at scale. We hold a second conviction just as firmly. The market is placing increasing importance on open source models and frameworks to democratise access to intelligence globally, and Nscale will be at the forefront of this effort: accelerating Ray's roadmap development, joining the PyTorch Foundation as a Platinum member, and ensuring Ray remains the default choice for AI engineers. The logic is simple. Neither company has what the other has, and that is what makes this combination so powerful. Together we own the full stack, from power to production AI. And we will lead in open source. Two years ago we were racking our first GPUs. Today we're combining with the team behind the most adopted framework in AI. Our mission is to build the engine of superintelligence. It just got closer. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dY8Bts_M

Lou Serlenga shared thisCouldn’t agree more, Ari. In my role leading Alliances and Partnerships at Anyscale, I’ve been spending a significant amount of time working with NVIDIA, and the importance of an open AI ecosystem comes through in nearly every conversation. Open models need an open, flexible compute layer beneath them, and that’s exactly why Ray matters. Really excited to see NVIDIA, Microsoft AI, and so many other industry leaders at Ray Summit. See you there, Ari!Lou Serlenga shared thisRay Summit is less than one month away! 🤯 ‼️ Last week, Jensen Huang used his first-ever X post to share a letter — signed by 70+ companies (and growing) on why an open AI ecosystem matters. An open model is an important component to that, but so is your ability to train, adapt, and run it. If the model is open but the compute layer underneath is proprietary, you've just traded one lock-in for another. That's why the AI Compute Engine has to be open source too; and that's Ray. Sure, I sell a commercial platform at Anyscale, but it only succeeds because of the vibrancy and growth of the Ray community. It's even more fitting that two of the letter's signatories in NVIDIA & Microsoft AI will be at Ray Summit sharing how they use Ray to build their open models. Ray Summit brings together builders, platform leads, executives, and researchers who are training foundation models, constructing multimodal pipelines, and executing reinforcement learning at scale. New this year: the first vLLM Conference at Ray Summit, bringing together the engineers and researchers advancing open, high-performance inference. I've had the privilege of collaborating with some of these talented teams who will be presenting their work at Ray Summit, and I'm especially excited to see two of their leaders take the main stage: Andrew Beam with Lila Sciences and Felix Heide with Torc Robotics. Ray Summit 2026 promises to be even bigger and better than ever before. Check the comments for details. 👇

Lou Serlenga shared thisWhile I wasn't able to be at Microsoft Build in person due to a long-planned trip with my family, I'm incredibly proud to see Anyscale on Azure reach Public Preview. This launch reflects the deep partnership between Microsoft and Anyscale and our shared commitment to helping enterprises build and scale production AI systems on Azure. A huge thank you to the Microsoft team for their collaboration, leadership, and investment in bringing this offering to market. The Azure Native experience, integration with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure billing, MACC alignment, and deployment within customers' Azure environments create a compelling path for enterprises looking to operationalize AI at scale. What excites me most is what this means for customers. Organizations want to move beyond isolated AI experiments and build end-to-end AI systems that are secure, scalable, and production-ready. Together, Microsoft and Anyscale are making that easier. Congratulations to the teams across Microsoft and Anyscale who helped make this milestone possible. I'm especially grateful to Brendan Burns, Lachlan Evenson, Subhav 'Bob' Mital, Kenneth K., Cory Skimming, Nate Waters, Shelley Way, and Bethany Cordes for their partnership, leadership, and support in helping bring this vision to life. Looking forward to what comes next. #MicrosoftBuild #Azure #Anyscale #AIInfrastructure #EnterpriseAILou Serlenga shared this🔆 The co-founder of Kubernetes and the co-creator of Ray, in one conversation about the future of enterprise AI. We sat down with Brendan Burns (Corporate Vice President, Microsoft & co-founder of Kubernetes) and Robert Nishihara (co-founder, Anyscale & co-creator of Ray) to talk through Anyscale on Azure – and why running AI on Azure Kubernetes Service matters. The throughline: Kubernetes became the natural foundation for AI applications. Ray adds the AI-native compute layer on top, and Anyscale brings the production layer – a performance-enhanced runtime, developer tooling, and managed operations – so teams stay focused on building instead of managing clusters. Delivered Azure Native on AKS, teams are seeing 4x faster development and 50% higher GPU utilization. Worth a watch 👇

Lou Serlenga liked thisLou Serlenga liked thisAlmost 2 years of watching LiteLLM AI Gateway evolve, and today was a big one. I started deploying and evaluating this product at AT&T back in January 2025 as an option for an enterprise AI Gateway. Since then I've had the chance to contribute code back to the project, and to watch our own usage grow from the open source tier into a full enterprise deployment. The pace of improvement has been genuinely impressive: features, speed, hardening, and optimization that keep compounding release over release. Today marked another leap. I rolled out their latest architectural shift, moving core routing from a monolith to dedicated microservices, purpose-built for throughput. I'll be sharing performance numbers soon alongside the LiteLLM team, once we've had time to validate them in production. For now, credit to a team building infrastructure that keeps earning its place at the center of enterprise AI stacks. What an experience to build alongside Krrish D., Ishaan Jaffer and Yassin Kortam. #AIInfrastructure #EnterpriseAI #LLMOps #OpenSource #LifeAtATT

Lou Serlenga liked thisLou Serlenga liked thisDay one of MasterClass Executive + The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and what a start! Loved kicking off with behavioural science and how much our connections with other people matter in life and work. The idea that stayed with me was how easily we underestimate the value of simply starting a conversation. A great way to begin a programme where meeting and learning from each other is such a big part of the experience. Excited to be part of this founding cohort!

Lou Serlenga liked thisLou Serlenga liked thisI’m especially excited about this one: We’re bringing back our AI Executive Dinner Roundtable series this fall. Over the last few years, hundreds of enterprise AI leaders have joined us around the table. And these dinners have become some of my favorite conversations we host. Small, curated rooms. Senior AI and technology leaders around one table. Just candid, off-the-record conversations about what’s actually happening inside enterprises as AI moves from experimentation to scale. Here’s where we’re headed: 📍 Miami 📍 New York 📍 Boston 📍 London 📍 San Francisco And there’s a few more special events brewing that I’m very excited about. 👀 Want to join us at one of these? DM me or comment with your city below. Note: To keep the conversations candid and high-signal, this series is limited to enterprise leaders who directly own or influence AI strategy, budgets, and technology decisions. We're not able to host vendors at these.

Lou Serlenga liked thisLou Serlenga liked thisAt a tech conference, seeing 50 phones go up at once is actually a compliment. It means someone said something worth keeping. That’s what kept catching my eye while photographing Ray Summit 2026 for Anyscale at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. People leaning into laptops during Training Day. Phones coming up when a slide was worth saving. Questions, applause, conversations around demos, and small groups still working through ideas long after a session had moved on. There was plenty happening across three days - hands-on training, keynotes, technical deep dives, the vLLM track, sponsors and demos - but some of my favorite frames came from watching the community respond to all of it. That kind of attention is hard to manufacture. You can fill a room. Getting people to actually lean in is another story. It says a lot about the community Anyscale has built around Ray. Congratulations to Colette Tay and the Anyscale team, along with Lisa Gregory and the Gregory Event Services crew, for pulling together such a complex summit and making it a pleasure to document. Lou Serlenga liked thisLou Serlenga liked thisNscale’s IPO filing gives a revealing look at how quickly the AI infrastructure business is scaling—and how much capital it consumes. The Nvidia-backed company has filed to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker NSCL. Its first-half 2026 revenue reached $140.6 million, up from just $10.4 million a year earlier—a 1,252% increase. But Nscale also recorded a $1.02 billion net loss over those same six months. That contrast tells much of the story. AI infrastructure companies are racing to secure power, land, data centers and enormous GPU clusters before demand fully materializes. Nscale says it now has more than 10 GW of owned and controlled power capacity in its pipeline. As of August 31, it reported $103.4 billion in active and contracted total contracted value under long-term agreements, supporting roughly 461,000 active or contracted GPUs. Its team has also grown from about 40 people to more than 1,000 in roughly two and a half years. The numbers show why AI infrastructure is becoming an industry of its own. The competitive advantage is no longer simply access to GPUs. It increasingly depends on securing electricity, financing multi-billion-dollar infrastructure, constructing capacity quickly and locking in customers for years before the assets are fully deployed. Nscale’s IPO will put that model under much greater public-market scrutiny. The AI boom is creating enormous demand. It is also creating one of the most capital-intensive technology buildouts in modern business. #nscale #ipo #artificialintelligence #aiinfrastructure #datacenters #cloudcomputing #nvidia #technology #digitalinfrastructure

You are the company you keep. My parents instilled this in me at a young age. Know who you are, what you care about, and where you want to learn. I care deeply about AI serving human flourishing. Every agent needs access to data and inference to achieve a reliable, viable, and superior outcome. Most enterprise initiatives face an inhibitor to leveraging needed data for achieving this success. Data-centric governance and security is how this critical inhibitor will be removed. I and the company I keep are focused on removing this inhibitor so the business can embrace AI agents to improve the customer experience, get needed quality products in the hands of customers faster. Axelle Girardot and Claudionor Coelho Jr are amazing additions to the existing DAXA advisory board leaning in together on this mission. I am proud of the company I keep including Mark Dorsi , Sudeep Venkatesh , Sam Chehab, Nico Popp along with the DAXA co-founders Huseni Saboowala and Sridhar Ramaswamy.
