Liz Thompson (Williams) reposted thisTen years ago today, Strange Magic was released in theaters - a little known, but beautiful, modern and progressive fairy tale from the mind of George Lucas that tells the story of how love exists in many forms, and beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. This was my last animated feature before I transitioned into interactive/immersive content. Despite its challenges, I had a magical experience making this film, and many of my closest friends today are ones that I met during production. Strange Magic has built a cult following, and I am heartened to know that new audiences continue to discover this quirky and fantastic movie. I highly recommend it if you haven’t seen it already - or re-watching it if you have! It’s a jukebox-musical that’s perfect for a Valentine's Day family sing-along, or just rocking out to on your own! https://lnkd.in/g-zpqnYXStrange Magic | DISNEY THIS DAY | January 23, 2015Strange Magic | DISNEY THIS DAY | January 23, 2015

Liz Thompson (Williams) reposted thisLiz Thompson (Williams) reposted thisJoin us in making a difference this #GivingTuesday! Since 1935, JLOEB has dedicated over 7 million volunteer hours and $3 million in grants to the East Bay. As a volunteer-run nonprofit, our mission is to empower women's leadership for community impact. Help us reach our goal of $5,000 and support our focus on aiding women, children, and gender-expansive individuals experiencing homelessness in Contra Costa and Alameda counties. There are a lot of organizations you can donate to this #GivingTuesday, but donating through JLOEB means that you are both developing the potential of women while also contributing to make lasting change in Contra Costa and Alameda counties. Giving Tuesday is November 28 but our campaign runs through December 5. I never could’ve imagined this journey of creating videos obsessing over visuals would lead me here. Thanks Meta and Lucas Museum of Narrative Art for the experience. And thanks Taylor Lewis for joining me with no hesitation haha I’m so excited for everyone to enjoy this. I’ll definitely be coming back for more.

Liz Thompson (Williams) liked thisLiz Thompson (Williams) liked thisLife is too short to spend every day in a job that feels hard. Not challenging hard. Not stretching and growing hard. The kind of hard that leaves you sad, frustrated, drained, or regularly questioning your life choices. I watched my son’s school assembly today, and something about it really stayed with me. The kids were completely in it. They were laughing. Creating. Performing. Supporting each other. Being a little bit ridiculous. And absolutely committed to what they were doing. There was so much joy in the room. And it made me wonder: when do we decide, as adults, that joy is no longer an important measure of whether something is right for us? Why do we accept spending 40+ hours a week somewhere that consistently makes us feel smaller, unhappier or less like ourselves? We tell ourselves to be resilient. To stick it out. To be professional. That work isn't supposed to be fun. And sure, every job has difficult days. Every career has frustrating periods. But difficult days shouldn't become a difficult life. Maybe we should take a little more notice of what kids seem to understand instinctively: find the things that make you curious, contribute wholeheartedly, surround yourself with people who make you laugh, and don't underestimate the importance of actually enjoying your life. Because we really don't get enough time to spend years simply enduring it. #joy #life #worklifebalance #career

Liz Thompson (Williams) liked thisLiz Thompson (Williams) liked thisAs the fiscal year end approached, receiving an unexpected touch base on the calendar for a Friday Afternoon brought a familiar pit in the stomach. This feeling is both humbling and frustrating. Reorganizations and consolidations are part of the landscape, and after wrapping up the consolidation of Briogeo into Wella, the end of my time there was not a surprise, yet change is always a bit of a shock. I take immense pride in the operational and financial contributions I made during a challenging integration period and amidst market shifts. I worked diligently to deliver value to the company and my internal partners. Now, as I embrace this moment of change, I feel excitement. I have collaborated with many in this industry, and I know the unique value I bring to the table. My operational mindset in finance, combined with a level of humanity is rare and it sets me apart. I am reaching out to my connections. If you know of any brands or companies seeking either fractional or full-time executive support with extensive operational and financial CPG experience, I would greatly appreciate any connections.

Liz Thompson (Williams) liked thisLiz Thompson (Williams) liked thisPA's First Lady, Lori Shapiro, had an idea ---to gather art work from students (K-12) from across the state to create a large collage—one that would highlight the creativity of the Commonwealth’s school students for the 250th …and most importantly, one that could be shared with the public. PA Creative Industries, as well as PA Association of Art Educators were so proud to join in the unveiling yesterday of "Many Communities-One Commonwealth," a collage that allows us to appreciate PA through the eyes of some of our commonwealth’s youngest residents. Governor Shapiro then invited students and their families to the reception room where he welcomed the young artists. It was an amazing morning in our beautiful Capitol with the Governor, students, friends and families.

Liz Thompson (Williams) liked thisLiz Thompson (Williams) liked thisWhat a journey! After 14 incredible years at SEPHORA and 20 years within LVMH, the time has come for me to open a new chapter. Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful to have been part of Sephora’s exceptional growth and transformation over the past decade. Throughout my journey at Sephora—from CFO of the Americas, then CFO of Europe and the Middle East, and finally Global COO, I have learned invaluable lessons about leadership, transformation and customer obsession. Over the past eight years, serving as Global COO, i had the unique opportunity to build and strengthen Global Finance, Strategy, Supply Chain, Technology, Legal and Procurement functions to support the company’s continued expansion and operational excellence. I also had the pleasure of leading the Latin America region alongside the exceptional teams in Brazil and Mexico. Their talent, commitment and entrepreneurial spirit made this experience truly unforgettable. What I will miss most is Sephora’s unique culture and the extraordinary people who bring it to life every day with passion. My deepest thanks go to everyone I have had the privilege to work with over the years, and especially to Chris de Lapuente and Guillaume Motte for their trust, support and leadership. As I close this chapter, I do so with immense gratitude, pride and excitement for what lies ahead. Stay tuned for the next chapter. #webelongtosomethingbeautiful #quelquechosedebeaunousrassemble #WeAreSephora

Liz Thompson (Williams) liked thisLiz Thompson (Williams) liked thisI don’t care when my team works! Early risers? Cool. Night owls? Also cool. Parents juggling daycare drop-offs? Totally fine. You want to work 7–3 so you can pick your kid up from school? Do it. I don’t hire clock-punchers. I hire adults who deliver results. If the outcomes are there, I couldn’t care less if you’re doing deep work at 6 a.m. or midnight. Stop managing hours. Start managing impact. Flexibility doesn’t mean laziness. It means trust. And if that word makes you uncomfortable… you’re probably the control freak this post is about. 😘 #hiring #remotework #flexibility

“I worked with Liz on a class project. I found her to be professional in her approach in our group. Remote management can be difficult but Liz handled it extremely well. Of course, our finished group project was well recieved!! I would welcome the opportunity to work with Liz if the opportunity ever came around.”
