These two LSE-listed giants, along with a few other mega VARs, appear to be running away with things in the era of big AI infrastructure spending. Also interesting to note that Mike Norris gave barely a mention of the memory crunch in his CEO statement! Computacenter and Softcat appear to be roughly neck and neck once again. Patrick De Meyer reposted thisPatrick De Meyer reposted thisIt's all systems go in the integration center of our Global HQ in Hatfield, as the world's first multi-vendor liquid cooled configuration facility takes shape. Vertical construction is well underway with walls, cable runs and the all-important pipework going into place, along with getting ready to receive the CDUs, racks, chiller and other equipment shortly. Expect a rapid build from here as the environment takes shape, which will give us the ability to deploy up to 200 racks per week by the end of the year. This leading-edge environment enhances Computacenter's world-class integration, testing and deployment capability for enterprise and hyperscale hardware, enabling us to deliver all of our services on liquid-cooled infrastructure alongside air-cooled. Importantly we can deliver services across multiple vendors and technology stacks, which is critical for our customers as they move to liquid cooled technology for server, networking and other platforms. If you like wearing a hard-hat and high-vis vest, now is the time to come and see the build in progress. We have driven the design and scoping in-house led by Leon Ekins and Phil Copper, giving us fantastic insight into the process of upgrading an air-cooled environment to be ready for liquid cooling, and we'd be delighted to share our experience. We are also proud of being a UK headquartered company offering a unique value to UK Government and organisations in need of sovereign solutions. Anyone who's spent a day on back-to-back video calls knows what gets lost… the nod that tells you someone's with you, the hand gesture that lands a point, the pause that signals it's your turn to speak. Those small cues do a lot of the work of building trust, and they're exactly what HP Dimension with Google Beam is designed to bring back to hybrid working. I'm excited to see where customers take this technology from here. I have no doubt they'll discover new ways to connect that none of us saw coming. You could say sitting still is not really my thing, although since I do everything myself, including building websites, which has become a slightly out-of-control hobby, I probably spend far too much time sitting down. 😊 While building the new website, I listened to feedback from my agents, clients, friends and, of course, my daughters, hence the new photos too. New website: https://lnkd.in/eZmZ65Up What should now be much clearer is what I truly stand for as an author, executive advisor and keynote speaker: 𝐧𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐨𝐦, 𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐀𝐈. (And yes, the AI part is backed by an actual understanding of the technology 😏 ) The website also makes it clearer why my social media header says “𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐌𝐮𝐦.” This isn't only about being the mum to my daughters, Farah Van Bulck and Helena Van Bulck. Through them, and alongside them, it has also become part of my mission to connect with and support children around the world. This also means that part of my speaking fee contributes directly to the social projects I support, making this especially 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞-𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 that want to connect innovation with meaningful social impact. Finally, I wanted to make it more explicit how I approach every keynote. Depending on the audience, the context and the impact we want to create, we decide together which elements are most relevant. When useful, my research and the 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭 & 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐀𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 can be integrated to create a positive ripple effect and lasting impact. Feeling incredibly grateful to Computacenter and for the support I received from my team, management, and everyone I work with, for allowing me the time to be fully present the last few months as I stepped into what has been the most challenging but rewarding title I’ve ever taken on: being a mom. While I will definitely miss all the daytime snuggles, I’m excited to be coming back to work feeling recharged and with a new purpose, my daughter. Here’s to the next and best chapter, look forward to reconnecting with everyone soon!

Patrick De Meyer liked thisPatrick De Meyer liked thisIt's been a while since making a contribution to this platform, so here comes a big update: With my degree fresh in hand and the student chapter officially closed, I was eager to dive straight into my very first real job. At the start of September, I took that step and began my career as a Junior Sales Executive in the Future Sales Programme at Computacenter after years of theoretical coursework and exams, I was mainly curious to see what the business world actually looks like hands on and how to make a real impact outside the lecture halls. My first month got off to a flying start when I had the opportunity to head over to our London office last week. It was an incredible experience to immediately soak in the international scope of Computacenter as a fresh graduate and meet colleagues overseas in person. Starting your first role really comes down to the team around you, and I couldn't have asked for a smoother landing. Caroline Reyniers made the transition into the corporate world completely effortless, Tom Ampoorter and the BeNe team provided a warm welcome from day one, and a special shoutout goes to Lien Vleminckx for guiding me through every step as an amazing buddy and mentor. Big thanks as well to Yvette Ackerman (MCIPD) and Melanie Momah for making me feel right at home in London! Really curious to see where the rest of this journey takes me!
