Here’s a look at real-life heroes vs. reel-life heroes: Courage in Action 🦸♂️ vs. 🦸♀️ Reel-Life Heroes: Perform daring stunts and save the day, often with special effects. Real-Life Heroes: Face real dangers, whether in firefighting, healthcare, or daily acts of bravery. Everyday Impact 🌟 vs. 🌍 Reel-Life Heroes: Inspire us with stories that last a couple of hours. Real-Life Heroes: Create lasting change, improving lives and communities over a lifetime. Facing Adversity 🛡️ vs. 💪 Reel-Life Heroes: Overcome scripted challenges and villains. Real-Life Heroes: Tackle real-world problems like poverty, illness, and natural disasters. Personal Sacrifice 💔 vs. ❤️ Reel-Life Heroes: Often face fictional losses and recover miraculously. Real-Life Heroes: Make genuine sacrifices, sometimes at great personal cost. Role Models 🎥 vs. 🌟 Reel-Life Heroes: Entertain and inspire through their characters. Real-Life Heroes: Serve as true role models, showing us the power of resilience and compassion. Recognition 🏆 vs. 🙏 Reel-Life Heroes: Receive awards and fame for their portrayals. Real-Life Heroes: Often go unrecognized, yet their impact is profound and enduring. ✨ Celebrating Real-Life Heroes ✨ Healthcare Workers 👩⚕️: Providing care and saving lives every day. Teachers 👨🏫: Shaping the minds of future generations. First Responders 🚒: Risking their lives to protect others. Community Volunteers 🤝: Making a difference through selfless service. While reel-life heroes entertain and inspire us with their stories, real-life heroes quietly and humbly make the world a better place. Let's celebrate and support the real-life heroes among us!

Esmaeil Sarabadani hat dies geteiltEsmaeil Sarabadani hat dies geteiltDear everyone Don't switch to English when foreigners speak to you in your language. A lot of people who live abroad face a very particular challenge when learning the local language. They rarely get to practice. And without practice, they cannot become fluent. Daily life's small interactions make up 70% of mastering a new language. Please don't take that real-world practice away from them! If they want you to switch to English, they will let you know. English is the lingua franca everywhere, and people are pretty polite. So the moment you try to practice the language with a native speaker, they will often switch to English within 0,00001 seconds. To make it easy for you. But to learn a new language, you don't need easy. You need to go through a miserable rocky road of obstacles to come out fluent on the other side. So, dear everyone. Don't switch to English. Help internationals practice language everywhere. They will love you for it. 🧡 Nichlas Walsted Swap Language

Gold club rewards individuals who perform, transform and contribute to the overall success and growth of Microsoft. My mission personally was to ensure I contributed to the success of my customer, and I am happy my effort in achieving this was recognized :) I started this year by winning the Technology Solutions Excellence Award 2022 and winning the Gold Club award just gave me one more big surprise and I can't be any happier :) None of this would have been in any ways possible without the support of my lovely team and colleagues. Writing everyone's name who supported me on this journey would be almost impossible without missing some names, but I'd still like to say a BIG THANK-YOU to Denisa Köhler Dr. Sven Gerritsen Simon Solbach Bertil Syamken Roeland Nieuwenhuis Lars I. When I started, I could never have imagined where this journey would take me - from Tel Aviv to Seattle, all across Germany, and to becoming part of the wonderful Cyberwomen community. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to grow and learn from many exceptional people. A huge thank you to all the colleagues, managers Fabian Stalter, Jörg Petter, mentors Alexander Filipin, Philipp Kinkel, Michaela Teufel, Nadja Girdwood, customers, and partners who have been part of my journey. Thank you for your trust, support, and the many experiences we’ve shared. Excited for what lies ahead, and grateful for everything that got me here.

Esmaeil Sarabadani gefällt dasEsmaeil Sarabadani gefällt dasIn February, my thirty years at Microsoft ended. The last stretch as a Global Black Belt in cybersecurity, then my name on a list in this year's layoffs. The moment it became real was oddly technical. My mail was gone. My own Word files and PowerPoints wouldn't open, locked by the rights management I had sold for years and rolled out for customers as a consultant. Then the account was deleted. Knowing how it works didn't make it easier. What hurt most, though, was leaving the people. I've rarely seen so many smart, driven people in one place, and the security community there was something special. When I posted my goodbye here, people I hadn't heard from in 25 years wrote to me. That touched me. I'm also proud of what we built, and I still see more potential in the company than it's showing. That's the reason I keep writing about Microsoft, sometimes critically. Still, I'm not angry. The severance was more than fair, and thirty years of equity, stock options first and stock awards later, gave my family real security. Big tech pay and benefits are in a league few employers reach. That had its price. High quotas, and performance reviews three or four times a year. And yet I miss the rhythm. Creatures of habit, I guess. What bothers me is where the money goes. By mid-August, tech had cut more than 126,000 jobs this year, already above all of 2025. Meanwhile Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta and Oracle plan to spend $660 to 690 billion on infrastructure, up from about $380 billion last year. The official story is efficiency through AI. Some of that is real. A lot of it is simpler: salaries are a cost investors can see cut this quarter, while the payback on data centers is still a promise. That's a defensible choice, and companies should say so openly. Every round is also an intellectual drain. Someone with 20 or 30 years knows why a customer's setup looks the way it does and which alert actually matters. Companies will miss that judgement once their AI agents start acting on their own. The people who stay pay too. Motivation drops, and nobody takes risks while waiting for the next list. The colleagues I think about most weren't as lucky. Some of the smartest people I know joined too late to build a cushion. Others are on visas with 60 days to find a new job, or had just signed a mortgage sized to a big tech salary. And if you're over 50, you know the silence after an application. The system didn't work for everyone. I just happened to be on the right side of it. To those colleagues: what you learned there doesn't go away. You've worked at a scale few people see, and once the agent hype meets real operations, companies will need that. My advice: get hands-on with AI, whatever your role. Hiring managers now expect it. And keep your network warm. If you landed softly like I did, give someone an hour. Make a referral, or pick up the phone. If you went through a layoff this year, what helped you most? #Layoffs #BigTech #AI

I had the opportunity to speak about Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Copilot. It is not just about vibe coding. Specs help us make AI-assisted development more predictable by turning clear intent, requirements and constraints into the source of truth. I especially enjoyed exchanging experiences with Bayer’s developers and cloud architects and hearing their feedback on using specs in practice. 🚀 Thank you Boguslaw Tobiasz and Milena Zychowicz for the invitation, and Kamil Poliszak, Jakub Hasiec and Mateusz Laudan for the great conversations. Most Azure cost problems are not pricing problems. They’re allocation problems. 💸 Not because the math is hard. Because shared services blur ownership fast. Networking, logging, identity, security tooling, platform subscriptions, shared landing zone services… they all support multiple teams, but the bill still has to land somewhere. That’s usually where things start to drift: ⚙️ unclear ownership 📊 inconsistent tags 🧾 cost splits based on opinion instead of logic 🔁 reporting that takes too much manual cleanup This article breaks down a practical way to split shared Azure costs across: platform app overhead …without turning the process into chaos. The breakdown uncovers: ✅ what should stay directly assigned ✅ what should be shared and why ✅ where showback works better than chargeback ✅ how to use tags without overengineering the model ✅ how to keep allocation repeatable as the environment grows This is written from an operator lens, not a slide-deck lens. If you’re trying to make Azure cost ownership more accurate without creating more admin overhead, this should help. Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eeiG2-SM For the Azure / FinOps folks here: what shared cost category gives your team the most trouble right now? #Azure #FinOps #CostManagement #CloudGovernance #PlatformEngineering #CloudOps #AzureArchitecture #Chargeback #Showback #ITOperations

Coming out of #GoogleCloud SKO (sales and tech kick off), the architectural shift for 2026 is obvious. The "Copilot" pattern — where a human chats with a model — is hitting a ceiling. The real engineering value is moving toward Agentic workflows that can autonomously execute on your behalf. This fundamentally changes the "Why" behind cloud migrations, and the "How". We are moving past simple "lift-and-shift" exercises. Before moving a single byte, agents can analyze your current estate (on-prem, AWS, or Azure) deeper and faster than human teams: * Dependency Mapping: Agents scan network logs and codebases to visualize the "spaghetti" of dependencies. They can identify that "Server A talks to Database B only on Tuesdays," preventing breakage during move groups. * Code Analysis: An agent can read through millions of lines of legacy code (COBOL, Java 6, .NET) to classify applications by complexity (Simple Rehost vs. Complex Refactor). * TCO Calculation: Agents can digest billing data from AWS/Azure and map it to GCP equivalents (e.g., mapping AWS m5.large to the most cost-effective GCP Compute Engine machine type), instantly generating a projected Total Cost of Ownership. * Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Generation: Instead of engineers manually writing Terraform, agents can inspect your existing click-ops environment and generate the full GCP Terraform modules required to replicate it. * Construct Translation: Agents understand the semantic difference between clouds. Example: An agent analyzes an AWS Security Group and autonomously converts it into a GCP Firewall Policy, ensuring the intent of the security rule is preserved, not just the syntax. * Policy Compliance: Agents simulate the migration plan against GCP Organization Policies (e.g., "No public IPs allowed") and flag violations before deployment. and these are only a few examples. The event was a great opportunity to learn new trends, solutions, and what will impact our customers the most in 2026. If you are currently planning a migration from a specific source (like AWS, VMware, or on-prem) and you want to discuss how agentic workflows can help, do reach out! #GoogleCloud #AgenticAI #GenAI #GCP #SKO #cloudmigrations

Tuskira's take: Attackers are shifting down into frameworks, AI assistants, and virtualization layers that teams rarely monitor with rigor. React2Shell, malicious Skills, and BRICKSTORM all exploit that gap. Map those layers, monitor them like production apps, and stress-test them.

We just launched Optimize CPU for License Included (LI) — a feature that quietly changes the economics of running Windows Server and SQL Server on EC2! If you’re using License Included instances, you can now lower the number of vCPUs and immediately reduce your licensing costs. If you’re running SQL BYOL, you’ll automatically see lower Windows Server LI costs — no configuration needed. For customers looking to go further, the Existing EC2 Optimization and Licensing Assessment (EEC2 OLA) helps uncover even deeper savings opportunities across large environments. A small change in how you allocate compute can create a meaningful difference in cost and efficiency!

Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) for AWS is generally available for all Dynatrace SaaS customers running on AWS. Dynatrace continues to strengthen data security use cases for customers operating in highly regulated industries. Building on the dedicated storage and unique encryption keys per tenant introduced earlier, Dynatrace now allows you to manage your own encryption keys for Dynatrace platform data at rest on AWS. Michael Plank shares the details in his blog.
