(A.K.A The-Shortman, Shortman, or just "Short")
I'm an amateur programmer and an avid computer hardware enthusiast from the UK.
I am a Physics undergraduate at University, where I use Python to analyse data.
I work on Minecraft modpacks in my free time for fun:
- Create: Astral, for which I designed the main menu, refactored and standardised the codebase in mid-2025, and now continue to fix bugs and improve developer experience for the whole team.
- My own modpack, Planets and Portals 3, for which I am the sole programmer and designer.
I use JavaScript in KubeJS, work with Minecraft datapacks, and have used GitHub Actions to automatically build releases.
I also have experience in server management and software deployment with Docker, as I frequently tinker with my homelab, currently consisting of three machines on two locations, all communicating over my Tailscale network.
I have deployed:
- An instance of Headscale to coordinate my Tailnet.
- An instance of copyparty for a personal file server and private filesharing site.
- An instance of Red Discordbot to help with automated management of the Create: Astral Discord server.
- Traefik as a reverse-proxy for my web-hosted services.
