Chris Baker shared thisCongratulations Emma Maslen and team inspir’em! It has been wonderful watching you grow, being a very satisfied customer, and now being part of the inspir’em community! Happy birthday!Chris Baker shared thisSeven years ago this month, inspir'em was a team of one. Today, I am privileged and thrilled to work with an incredible community of customers, partners, coaches, and colleagues who help us create impact every day. Businesses don't grow because of a single person. They grow because the value the team brings, the customers place their trust in you, the talented people who choose to join you, and a network of supporters believes in what you're trying to achieve. I'm hugely grateful to every customer who has worked with us, every partner and coach who has contributed, every team member who has shaped the business, and everyone in our wider network who has supported us along the way. Thank you for being part of the journey and for believing in what we're building. Seven years in, I'm more excited than ever about what's ahead. It still feels like we're only just getting started. Happy 7th birthday, inspir'em. 🎂 Genevieve Martin, Alice Scaysbrook, Caroline Scott, Laura Turner, Louise Lucien, Vicci S., India Holt, Lauren Paine, Lucy Rhodes, Mark Garrett Hayes, Ceire McQuaid, Chris Baker, David Rose, Natalie Gwilt, Maura Connell Lightfoot, Jane Gilham, Richard Bounds, Matthew Welch inspir’em #BusinessAnniversary #Teamwork #SalesEnablement #LeadershipDevelopment #Growth

Chris Baker shared thisEmma Maslen and the team at inspir’em are kicking off their new webinar series: MEDDPICC Leadership on Friday, 4 September, 3 PM UK time. As leaders, our job is to inspect and coach to MEDDPICC, from the start of the sales cycle right through to close. Over the coming sessions, they'll follow the journey of a typical opportunity, looking at what good looks like at each stage, where deals tend to go off track, and how we, as leaders, can use MEDDPICC to identify risk and coach more effectively. The first webinar focuses on Identified pain and how we can ensure our teams have uncovered a problem significant enough to warrant budget investment. Join live if you can. Only inspir'em members receive access to the recordings, and everyone who attends live will receive a practical takeaway resource to help coach to Identified pain. Register your free place here: https://lnkd.in/eMvFMCSz #SalesLeadership #MEDDPICC

Chris Baker shared thisThis is an essential webinar series for anyone leading a deal or leading the sales function. I use MEDDPICC every day to coach x-functional sales teams through thorough qualification to confident and timely close.Chris Baker shared thisWhat happens when you look at MEDDPICC through a sales leader's eyes? Starting September 4th, we're kicking off our new MEDDPICC Leadership Series of webinars, exploring the role leaders play in creating consistency, improving deal inspection, and helping teams apply MEDDPICC effectively in the real world. Although we created the content for these webinars with sales leaders in mind, it's equally relevant to all the reps out there. Understanding how leaders think about qualification, coaching, forecasting, and pipeline can provide valuable context for your deals and your professional development. And for anyone aspiring to move into leadership one day, it's never too early to start seeing the bigger picture. Registration is now open. All webinars are free, but only inspir'em members will have access to a recording. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ePRMgCtV #MEDDPICC #SalesLeadership #RevenueLeadership #SalesCoaching

Chris Baker shared thisI posted a year ago that AI tools can slow you down and interrupt your flow, killing your productivity. If you’re great at mental arithmetic and forced to use a calculator you’ll get frustrated, then lose your skill before becoming lazy. This BBC article articulates what I’m experiencing everywhere: an abandonment of tools made for a specific task; for example BI, CRM, Excel, ERP, at huge costs to productivity and bottom lines and in favour of employees literally playing and free-styling. The problem is generative AI. The solution is turning on AI features in traditional software designed to support a specific business function. If you give everyone in a manufacturing facility a Swiss Army knife instead of specialist tooling you will produce rubbish. Is this now your business, whatever you build, create or supply? https://lnkd.in/eRV2JmYN'Confused' AI strategy hurts firms and baffles staff'Confused' AI strategy hurts firms and baffles staff

Chris Baker shared thisPRIME (Patient Research Involvement Movement) is a unique service from brainstrust. PRIME ensures that those with lived experience of brain tumours shape the delivery of brain tumour research. This in turn means that research outcomes reflect the real needs of brain tumour patients. PRIME effectively champions the voice of the brain tumour patient in research development. Thanks to the support of the Brain Tumour Research Charity, PRIME is increasingly involved in major brain tumour research projects. Dr Helen Bulbeck's recent BTR blog on PRIME's work and impact can be found here: https://lnkd.in/e2AkW6PN?

Chris Baker shared thisOne leadership tip I was given early in my career was to simply to catch someone doing something great and to call it out. We seem to be wired to catch everything wrong, faulty and negative and are very quick to call these things out. It is a skill in parenting and management to catch the great, sometimes small things, and then reinforce them by simply noticing and calling them out. There are numerous exemplary behaviours and best practices at home, school and business that we can identify and amplify. I’m going to try to take this thinking macro. In a world where journalists and now algorithms exploit the negative and shout it at us, we must look for the positive and call it out even louder. Please read and share your daily dose of positive news! https://lnkd.in/d3qBugAWWhat went right this week: Australia’s four-day week experiment, plus moreWhat went right this week: Australia’s four-day week experiment, plus more

Chris Baker shared thisThanks for sharing Will Jones. Great to see clinical trial myths being replaced with clarity, and to celebrate collaboration across the brain tumour community including brainstrust, The Brain Tumour Charity and Brain Tumour Research. To repeat Will’s words and a mantra of Helen Bulbeck: “lived experience doesn't just add value to research, it transforms it.”Chris Baker shared thisClinical trials can feel daunting, but so much of what holds people back are myths that can be busted with the right information. 🧠 The Brain Tumour Charity has done a brilliant job of tackling seven of the most common myths head-on: https://lnkd.in/e5C9bJsc A huge congratulations to brainstrust's Helen Bulbeck for her outstanding PPIE (Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement) contribution through brainstrust's PRIME initiative which is supporting Professor Susan Short and the ACT BT programme. Another example of how lived experience doesn't just add value to research, it transforms it. PRIME has vital support from Brain Tumour Research. This also a reminder of what happens when charities collaborate. Each organisation brings its own perspective, networks, and expertise, and together we can create something far greater than the sum of the parts. A vibrant ecosystem with patients at the centre. #BrainTumour #ClinicalTrials #PatientInvolvement #PPIE #Research #Charities

Chris Baker shared thisThe network that you build and nurture throughout your career will serve you well in work and life. Invest in it for invaluable and reciprocal returns from graduation to beyond retirement. Thank you Emma Maslen for the nudge.Chris Baker shared this📚 World Book Day thoughts… As you know, I'm an advocate of networking - and building your own personal board of advisors to see you through your career - that I wrote a book about it. Not networking for the sake of collecting contacts, but building a small, trusted group of people who help you make better decisions, grow faster, and enjoy your work more. People often think networking is something you do when you want a new job. But in my experience, networking is even more powerful for helping you be better at your existing role. Careers aren’t built in isolation. Most progress happens in conversation: 🙋♀️ The people you talk things through with. 🙋♂️ The ones who challenge your thinking. 🙋♀️ The ones who’ve been there before, or are dealing with something similar right now. That’s the thinking behind The Personal Board of You Inc. So on World Book Day, that’s my nudge: invest in your network before you need the connections. Your current role will thank you for your networking efforts. #WorldBookDay #PersonalBoard #Networking #Leadership #Learning

Chris Baker shared thisThis will be a great session. The best sellers that I work with do this well: they immerse themselves in their clients, starting with an appreciation of the bigger picture and a belief in their relevance to it. Then they plan with their team!Chris Baker shared thisExcited to host the first webinar in our Strategic Account Planning Series today, 3 PM BST. I'm joined by fellow inspir'em coach Ceire McQuaid, and we'll be running through the inspir’em top tips for Strategic Account Planning - so have your questions at the ready. 👉 I'll put the registration link in the comments for those who haven't registered yet. This is a live webinar, but if you're an inspir'em member you will have access to a recording early next week. See you in a few hours! Ceire McQuaid

Chris Baker liked thisChris Baker liked thisWhy Sales Leaders Need to Be in the Room One of the biggest reasons sales methodologies fail isn't the methodology. It's when sales leaders aren't learning it alongside their teams. If your team is being taught a new language, a new playbook and a new way of qualifying opportunities, but leaders aren't in the room, the chances of consistent adoption drop dramatically. Sales methodologies like MEDDPICC aren't something to be done to a sales team. They're leadership frameworks. Leaders are responsible for reinforcing the language, coaching to the framework and creating the inspection rhythms that make new behaviours stick. That's where real transformation happens. Resharing a snippet from my conversation with Hunters and Unicorns last year for #WorldPodcastDay. Full episode still available to watch on YouTube. #SalesLeadership #MEDDPICC #RevenueLeadership #SalesTransformation #B2BSales #WorldPodcastDay

Chris Baker reacted on thisChris Baker reacted on thisSo touching to see Virgin Atlantic's new plane paying tribute to my wonderful wife, Joan. Joan was part of the Virgin Atlantic story from the very beginning. From joining the inaugural flight in 1984, to coming up with the idea of donating loose change on-board for charity (which resulted in almost every airline in the world following suit and raising billions over the years). She was always there. Seeing the details of our family tartan, the heart-shaped necklace, and the rings she wore every day, brought back so many happy memories.

What made the occasion so special was sharing it with volunteers and crew members recognised for up to 70 years of service, alongside recipients of gallantry and distinguished service awards. It was both inspiring and humbling to be among such remarkable people. Returning to BRNC with my parents was also particularly meaningful. The last time we were there together was for my passing-out parade as a Midshipman in 1985. A wonderful celebration of service and dedication, and a reminder of the extraordinary contribution made by RNLI volunteers across the UK and Ireland. #WithCourageNothingisImpossible #LeadWithCourage #rnli

Chris Baker reacted on thisChris Baker reacted on thisLeaving SF after an eventful week with our partners Salesforce and Anthropic. While change is faster than we all expected over the last years, there is a necessary reframing happening that puts us, humans, at the center. The AI slop is real. The burden of processes and approvals is also real. We can unburden people and make talent shine. We can embrace growth rather than only productivity. And we can recognize that nothing is ever as perfect as the real world and the blue sky in the Bay Area. I am optimistic despite all the uncertainties. This sky has no limits.

Chris Baker liked thisChris Baker liked thisRolling out the big guns! Super excited that Jake Stone is joining the Champions webinar next Friday! In the last 18 months, Disguise has been on quite a transformation to adopt value-based selling and MEDDPICC - with some staggering results! If you are thinking your Champions and Ebs are hard to get to - imagine selling to Taylor Swift and working out who the Champion should be - that's where Disguise comes in! Jake brings a wealth of real-world experience from leading teams through that journey, so delighted he will share his views on how leaders have helped their sellers identify, develop and validate Champions more effectively. It should be a really interesting conversation, with plenty of lessons learned along the way. Hope to see you there! #SalesLeadership #MEDDPICC #Champion

Chris Baker liked thisI did it 🎉🎉 I have officially graduated with Distinction in my Level 5 Diploma in Business and Administrative Management. 🎓 Some people collect swag, mugs, or loyalty points. Apparently, I collect qualifications… and train journeys to London, then to Manchester in 2025 😂 Completing Level 5 alongside a demanding role was not always easy. There were busy days, late evenings, assignments, deadlines, and a dictionary that seemed to have a personality of its own, and the occasional moment of wondering why I had voluntarily signed up to study management accounting (again 20 years later). But it was absolutely worth it. This qualification has challenged me, strengthened my business knowledge, and given me a deeper understanding of leadership, project management, CSR and ethics (my favourite topic), and management accounting. More importantly, it reminded me that learning doesn't stop just because we are busy professionals. A huge thank you to Adam for his teaching, guidance, encouragement, and for making complex subjects feel practical, relevant, and genuinely engaging. Adam, your belief in your students and your standards of excellence make a real difference. I am incredibly grateful to have learned from you. I would also like to sincerely thank my previous managers, Dayne and Jean-Marc, for their support throughout 2025. Having managers who recognise the value of professional development and encourage you to keep growing even when the workload is already full is something I will never take for granted. Your support meant a great deal to me. One of the loveliest parts of this journey was meeting such a wonderful group of inspiring ladies Tracy, Sylvia, Jo, Fay, Wendy, to name a few) in class. We shared learning, laughter, nerves before deadlines, and more than a few “please excuse my French moments"! I truly hope we will all meet again for Level 6. For now, I am taking a moment to feel proud, grateful, and perhaps slightly relieved that I can put the calculator down for a little while. Level 5: completed 🤩 . Distinction: achieved 🎓 . Level 6: hopefully, back at it soon! To infinity and beyond! 🚀 #ProfessionalDevelopment #LifelongLearning #ExecutiveAssistant #Leadership #BusinessManagement #Level5 #Level6 #AdamFidlerAcademy #EASupportingEAChris Baker liked thisEnormous congratulations to Frederique Perol, Senior Executive Assistant, for qualifying with the Level 5 Diploma in Business and Administrative Management! Frederique, who is based in Paris, France, continued her studies with us by attending classes here in our Manchester Academy, in-person. Those classes extended Frederique’s previous learnings from the Level 4 Diploma, and at Level 5 focussed on the disciplines of management accounting, project management, leadership and management, and CSR/Ethics, to name just some of the Units. We’re delighted for you, Frederique, and you should be proud of your dedication and commitment to growing your business knowledge, and expanding your mind through a formal qualification! We look forward to seeing you back in class very soon for your Level 6 Diploma (degree equivalent) and thank YOU for being a superb student! #EA #PA #AdamFidlerAcademy #PersonalAssistant #ExecutiveAssistant

Another exciting announcement in healthcare: we’re teaming up with Snowflake and InterWorks to build a Secure Data Environment (SDE) for Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust – one of the UK’s biggest hospital groups. Connecting with electronic patient records systems, the SDE will strengthen service planning and delivery, population health analysis and clinical research to support and protect people in South-East London. It’s been a privilege working with NHS leaders on such an important and impactful project, and we take the responsibility extremely seriously: as Flann Horgan explains, we will protect patient choice, privacy and security at every step. Ultimately, we aim to improve patient care, ease the working lives of NHS staff, reduce waste and boost public health, supporting the public servants who in turn support all of us.

Over 80 stakeholders united to document service delivery from referral to discharge, leveraging the analysis of 2.8 million form submissions. This collaboration granted The Christie NHS Foundation Trust a comprehensive view of its digital operations. In a remarkable feat, the mapping was finalized within four months, a process that would typically span over 18 months using conventional approaches. The Trust's efficiency was significantly enhanced with the aid of Netcall Liberty Spark! Well done to everyone involved. 🎙️ New Episode Alert: AI at the NHS Just released my conversation with Ming Tang, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at NHS England, on the Data & AI Mastery podcast. Ming shared powerful insights on leading digital transformation at scale: 1️⃣ Majority of transformation challenges aren't technical. They're about human relationships and processes. The real skill? Listening first, then applying technology. 2️⃣ Measure business impact, not just adoption. Technology metrics matter to IT teams. Business metrics (reduced waiting times, improved patient experience) matter to the organisation. 3️⃣ AI mindset beats AI tools. The NHS is already deploying AI for discharge summaries and clinical documentation. Ming's advice? Be curious, experiment with guardrails, and focus on where you'll get the business excited. Her contrarian view resonated deeply: "It's not all about the tech – it's about mindset."
