Josh Payne shared thisToday we're announcing that Frank Slootman is joining Nscale's Board of Directors and Adam Rosman is joining as our Chief Legal Officer. We are operating at a scale, and moving at a speed, that puts a premium on experience. On people who have built at this size before and know how to get it right. Frank has led and scaled some of the most consequential enterprise technology companies of the last two decades. Adam has spent 25 years steering companies through the legal and regulatory demands of growth at this pace. We get the benefit of all of that, and I'm looking forward to it. Welcome, Frank. Welcome, Adam. https://lnkd.in/gimYu9kFNscale appoints Frank Slootman to the Board of Directors and Adam Rosman as Chief Legal Officer | NscaleNscale appoints Frank Slootman to the Board of Directors and Adam Rosman as Chief Legal Officer | Nscale

Josh Payne shared thisFidji Simo is joining the Nscale Board of Directors. Fidji has built products used by billions of people. She led the Facebook app through the industry's shift to mobile, took Instacart to profitability and through its IPO as CEO and Chair, and most recently ran ChatGPT as CEO, AGI Deployment at OpenAI. Compute allocation is a product problem as much as a power problem, and that gets more true the further up the stack we build. Very few leaders understand what products at that scale demand of the systems underneath them. Fidji has spent her career on the other side of it. We've built this board deliberately. Fidji is the piece we didn't have. Welcome, Fidji. https://lnkd.in/gzEDBjvUFidji Simo Joins Nscale Board of Directors | NscaleFidji Simo Joins Nscale Board of Directors | Nscale

Josh Payne shared thisToday we're announcing a multi-year strategic partnership with humanoid robotics company Figure. The agreement represents the potential to deploy the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform with up to 100,000 NVIDIA GPUs, with an initial commitment of $3.5 billion of compute. Nscale becomes Figure's preferred compute provider and a shareholder in the company. Physical intelligence is AI's next frontier, and it runs into the same constraint as everything else in AI: compute. Figure's Helix models get more capable with more of it. That's what we're here to provide. More here: https://lnkd.in/gifFzw7U

Josh Payne shared thisNscale is launching a STEM and skilled-trades education fund for Mason County, West Virginia, home to our Monarch Compute Campus. The investment will go toward modernized labs and workshops, advanced training for instructors, and coursework built around real careers. Skills in STEM and the skilled trades open doors well beyond any one employer. That training will now happen in the county's own classrooms and workshops. And the demand for those skills is already arriving in Mason County. Ernst & Young estimates Monarch will create more than 6,000 jobs over the next two years, and close to 700 permanent positions once the first stage of the campus is running. It also projects $87 million a year in new tax revenue going directly to Mason County schools. We take a long-term stake in every community where we build. Thank you to the Mason County Board of Education, and to everyone helping us make this last. More here: https://lnkd.in/gii6w54R

Josh Payne shared thisA few years ago, scaling infrastructure for AI with the speed we are today would have been hard to imagine. Now we are doing it. Nscale started from a belief that the next generation of AI would require a fundamentally different approach to infrastructure. More compute, more power, and the ability to execute far faster than the industry was used to. Everything we have built since is the work of an incredible team. Nscale’s employees are the reason my name is on this list, so the recognition is theirs as much as mine. Thanks to TIME, and congratulations to everyone else on this year's list. https://lnkd.in/gfRydvcR #TIME100AI

Josh Payne shared thisYesterday we opened Nscale’s New York office. Two years ago, this started with a handful of people trying to get Nscale off the ground. Now we’ve got a home for our team in New York City, one of the most important markets in the world for what we’re building. This office puts us closer to our customers, our partners, and the people we want to hire. Big thanks to everyone who made yesterday happen, and to everyone who’s helped us get here.

Josh Payne shared thisToday we're announcing that Nscale has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Anyscale, the platform built by the creators of Ray that AI engineers use to run workloads across thousands of GPUs. AI is the most consequential build-out of our generation, and it demands infrastructure built from the ground up: energy, data centres, compute, and software, unified under one roof. That has been our conviction since day one, and it is exactly what we have built. Anyscale extends that stack even further, sitting on top of our existing software to give AI engineers everything they need to train, fine-tune, and serve models at scale. We hold a second conviction just as firmly. The market is placing increasing importance on open source models and frameworks to democratise access to intelligence globally, and Nscale will be at the forefront of this effort: accelerating Ray's roadmap development, joining the PyTorch Foundation as a Platinum member, and ensuring Ray remains the default choice for AI engineers. The logic is simple. Neither company has what the other has, and that is what makes this combination so powerful. Together we own the full stack, from power to production AI. And we will lead in open source. Two years ago we were racking our first GPUs. Today we're combining with the team behind the most adopted framework in AI. Our mission is to build the engine of superintelligence. It just got closer. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dY8Bts_M

Josh Payne liked thisExcited to share that I’m joining the Board of Nscale. Having spent the last several years at the frontier of AI, I’ve seen firsthand just how critical access to compute is to turn AI breakthroughs into products used by millions of people, but also that compute alone isn’t enough. The real opportunity is to integrate the entire stack, from the physical infrastructure that powers AI to the software that makes it usable at scale, and to make all of that complexity disappear for the companies and developers building the next generation of AI. That’s what makes Nscale so exciting to me. The company is taking a truly vertically integrated approach to building AI infrastructure at a moment when the world is going to need dramatically more of it. I’m especially excited to work with Josh Payne and the entire Nscale team, as well as the rest of the Board, and to have the chance to work again with my former colleagues Sheryl Sandberg and Nick Clegg, who have so warmly welcomed me to this team. There is an enormous amount still to build in AI infrastructure, and I’m thrilled to help Nscale as it takes on that challenge.Josh Payne liked thisFidji Simo is joining the Nscale board!!!! I have told the story of Facebook's bet on mobile many times. Fidji is a big part of why that bet paid off. She built NewsFeed ads, led the video product, and then the whole Facebook app. She went on to run Instacart as CEO and Chair, took it public and made it profitable. Most recently, she ran ChatGPT and led all product and business functions at OpenAI. Fidji has spent her career at the other end of what Nscale builds -- making the products that the data centers and software exist to serve. Building great products comes from being deliberate and staying close to the people you serve. No one does this better than Fidji. I have had the privilege of working with many brilliant, dedicated people. Even in that talented group, Fidji stands out as a deep thinker, great executor, and truly wonderful human being. I’m immensely proud of everything we built together and deeply grateful to such an incredible team. Wishing everyone continued success under @Takis’s leadership! As I look ahead, I’m thrilled to share that I will be joining @Nscale as Chief Legal Officer on October 1. Nscale is a vertically integrated, full-stack AI cloud platform bringing together software, compute, and power to build the core infrastructure powering the AI revolution. Joining at this moment of rapid global scaling is an incredible opportunity, and I couldn't be more excited to lead and build the legal, regulatory, and governance functions alongside @JoshPayne, @PhoebeeGahan, and the rest of Nscale’s world-class team. Revolutionising the "Invisible Backbone" of our Buildings 🏢 🤖 At Concrete VC, we are constantly looking for the bridge between legacy real estate operations and the next generation of technology. That is why I’m thrilled to share our recent investment in Tyten. Facilities Management (FM) is a $1.4 trillion global industry that keeps the world’s buildings running, yet it has remained largely underserved by modern automation. Tyten is changing that narrative. By applying a sophisticated AI layer to help-desk workflows and providing technicians with real-time diagnostic tools, Tyten isn't just "digitising" a process—they are fundamentally reshaping how the built environment is maintained. Why we backed them: ✅ Deep Empathy: The team spent 400+ hours on the ground shadowing technicians. This isn't a "retrofit" tool; it’s purpose-built for the frontline. ✅ Operational Impact: Reducing administrative burdens by 40% and closing work orders up to 80% faster. ✅ Scalability: Their platform integrates with existing systems (CAFM/CMMS), making it an easy win for large-scale operators. Congratulations to Vladimir Pushmin, Sergey Nasonov, Tom Petrides, and the entire Tyten team. We are excited to partner with you alongside Fuel Ventures and Antler to modernise the backbone of our cities. The Deep Tech Fundraising Cheatsheet 📊 Peter Walker just shared fresh deep tech fundraising benchmarks (valuation, cash raised, dilution) based on 900 US rounds raised in 2025. Important context for EU founders: Cash raised and valuations are typically lower in EU. 𝐀 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: - Deep tech fundraising is usually more dilutive at the early stages than software (longer timelines to revenue, technical risk, higher capital needs). - Deep tech doesn’t necessarily require endless capital. Later-stage amounts aren’t wildly out of line with software. - Each round unlocks steep valuation step-ups 3.5× Seed→A || 2.1× A→B || 2.0× B→C. To Peter's word: "It's a fantastic time to build a company based on atoms, not bits". That couldn’t be more true for climate tech. --- 📍 For more climate tech insights, follow me Hugo Rauch, or subscribe to the newsletter: https://lnkd.in/e3jdZYPT

The Haatch SEIS Fund 2026/27 is now live on Crowdcube. This is our 5th SEIS fund offer on the platform since 2023, having raised over £4.3m from more than 1,200 investments on Crowdcube to date, and we are proud to continue opening up access to pre-seed venture investing from just £2,000. 2025 was a year to remember for Haatch. Our first fund-returning exit with Native Teams delivered 7.4x to investors (14.8x with SEIS tax reliefs), meaning every other company in that fund is now pure upside. Across the portfolio we are seeing strong markups including Eleanor at 9.86x, Deazy at 7.88x, AeroCloud at 6.43x, and many more building behind them. The team also picked up five industry awards, including Best SEIS Investment Manager at the EISA Awards, Seed VC of the Year at the UKBAA Angel Investment Awards and Fund of the Year at the SeedLegals awards. This fund will back 12 to 15 pre-seed B2B SaaS companies from mid-April. The fund is capped and open for two weeks. We believe more people should have access to this asset class, and Crowdcube helps us make that happen. Head over to Crowdcube for more. Link in the comments. Don't invest unless you're prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong. Take 2 mins to learn more. Capital at Risk. Past Performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.

London may be one of the most interesting early-stage tech markets in the world right now. I’m here this week representing one of Filter Funds portfolio companies, Guardrail Technologies, Inc. who is a finalist at MassChallenge UK while also meeting with LPs, clients and others across the ecosystem — and the enthusiasm around technology and innovation is palpable. The numbers back it up. London startups raised $17.7bn in 2025, up 58% YoY. AI companies alone attracted $6.9bn — up 88% and representing 39% of all London startup investment. And this isn’t just another fintech cycle. London is building across AI, life sciences, climate tech, quantum, robotics, cybersecurity, fintech, and space and defense tech. What makes London particularly interesting to me is density. Within a few Tube stops, you have world-class universities and researchers, global financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, VCs, founders, regulators and major customers. That creates something spreadsheets don't capture very well: Collision rate. Talent meets capital. Science meets commercialization. AI meets regulated industries. Founders meet customers. And perhaps most importantly, London doesn't need to become Silicon Valley. Its advantage may be exactly where it is different: applying new technologies to industries where London and the UK already have deep institutional expertise. The conversations I’m having here this week reinforce that. There is capital, talent and ambition — but also a real appetite to build. London isn't trying to replicate the next Silicon Valley. It is building something of its own. And it's worth paying attention to. #London #VentureCapital #Startups #AI #Innovation #EarlyStage #UKTech
