David Bean shared thisMy son, leveling up - stay tuned!David Bean shared thisHello LinkedIn, after 2+ incredible years at Exit 14, I couldn't be more excited to announce the launch of my new company, Ageless Pictures. My first project under the Ageless Pictures banner will be a new feature film, which I'll be able to share more details about soon! In the meantime, I want to thank Sam Silverstein and Jeremy Paczos. Almost three years ago, they invited me out to LA, took me under their wing, and gave me an opportunity to learn and grow. Thank you both for being the best mentors, collaborators, and friends I could ask for. I'm immensely proud of what we accomplished together, and I can't wait to finally share 'Grassland' with the world later this year.

David Bean liked thisDavid Bean liked thisToday feels like one of those milestone moments I'll remember for a long time. Tickets are officially on sale for the inaugural Art Coast® Food & Wine Festival, November 5-7, 2026 in Saugatuck/Douglas. 🍷✨ A little over five months ago, I stepped into the role of Executive Director at the Saugatuck/Douglas Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. Since then, Alec Payleitner and I have spent countless hours dreaming, planning, problem-solving, and imagining what this festival could become. There were plenty of moments when it felt ambitious (even a little crazy) but we believed Saugatuck/Douglas deserved a culinary event worthy of the incredible destination we call home. From the earliest conversations about what this festival could be, Alec has been a true partner in bringing this vision to life. This festival simply would not exist without his talent, passion, dedication, and belief in this project. I’m also incredibly grateful that our Board of Directors trusted us to dream big. They believed in the vision, supported us through the challenges, and gave us the confidence to create something entirely new. That kind of trust is a gift. A huge thank you also goes to the team at Concept A Creative Studio. Building a brand-new festival website from the ground up is no small task, and they have been incredible partners every step of the way. Their creativity, responsiveness, and hard work helped transform an idea into something people can now see, explore, and purchase tickets for. We are lucky to have them on our team. There is still a lot of work ahead, but today feels like a moment to pause and appreciate how far we've come. Watching an idea move from a conversation to a real event that people can now buy tickets to is pretty special. Thank you to everyone who has helped bring this vision to life. I can't wait to welcome people to the Art Coast this November. ❤️ Tickets available at https://lnkd.in/gdtnS6hu

David Bean liked thisDavid Bean liked thisThis past Friday, I had the humble pleasure of completing and celebrating the United States Coast Guard Chief’s Call to Initiation (CCTI). As a member of the Reserve Component, I do not often have the opportunity to regularly connect in person with my Active Duty counterparts from across the vast Greater Detroit Area and Great Lakes District. This experience not only reinforced my servant leadership philosophy but also provided valuable insight into leadership principles from a wide variety of experienced Coast Guard leaders. I am incredibly grateful for the mentorship, camaraderie, and traditions shared throughout this journey. The experience strengthened my connection to the Chiefs Mess, Coast Guard heritage, and the responsibility we all carry to lead, mentor, and serve others. David Bean reacted on thisOutstanding summary - thanks Suzanne Fritz-Hanson for such a fun discussion with the Project Worldwide Board of Directors!!David Bean reacted on thisAs a Head of Creative, I’m used to pitching big ideas to strangers. But representing yourself as a brand? That is a far more vulnerable—and scary—kind of pitch. Last week, I was handed a microphone and a challenge: Interview the Project Board of Directors in front of a live audience. I said "yes" before my nerves had a chance to tell me "no." Rather than sticking to a corporate script, I decided to channel my inner Terry Gross. I spent a week diving into their backgrounds, researching the human stories behind the titles to connect our Board with a room full of CEOs, founders, and senior leaders (and eventually, our thousands of employees worldwide). What I found was far more interesting than a standard bio: A sculptor who understands the tactile nature of creativity John Clinton. An art collector and Greek scholar who views finance through a lens of beauty Steven Felsher. A leader who finds his clarity on the water Larry Vallee. A CFO who unlearned "auditor rules" to partner with visionaries Judy Skiles. And a CEO who still values lessons he learned while working in hospitality Chris Meyer. I started with a rapid-fire question: "Who is the brains of this operation?" Without hesitation, the Board pointed directly at the audience. That moment set the tone. We used that rapport to dive into the hard stuff: navigating disagreement, the "Project Effect," and where the alliance model goes next. Moderating isn't just about asking questions; it's about demystifying leadership and finding the "heart" in the boardroom. It turns out our Board has both their hearts and their heads in exactly the right place. If there is a lesson here, it’s this: Give yourself the same bold opportunities you fight for on behalf of your clients. We are constantly pushing brands to take the stage and tell a human story—it’s time we apply that same courage to ourselves. When you do the work to move past the titles and get to the human stories, you realize that the reward of a real connection is always worth the risk of the stage. Thank you Matt Statman and Katherine Hoffman for the trust—and Chris Meyer, Steven Felsher, John Clinton, Judy Skiles, and Larry Vallee for the masterclass in leadership. #Project #Leadership #Moderator #ProjectWorldwide #CreativeLeadership #PersonalGrowth #CompanyCulture

David Bean reacted on thisDavid Bean reacted on thisScale vs. Soul. Last week in Nashville, the Project Worldwide leadership team gathered to discuss the future of our industry. My biggest takeaway? Our "Independence at Scale" model is exactly what the market needs right now. I’m more inspired than ever to help our clients maximize their marketing investments. In today’s landscape, it’s not just about spending—it’s about architecting the right solutions that bridge the gap between global reach and local heart. David Bean liked thisDavid Bean liked thisWe had a few warm days here in Michigan in March. Knowing us - that may have been summer. Weather along the river can be daunting on a good day - so our exploratory up on the roof had a bit of a windy chill to it. Apart from restoring the original Spanish tile there are several flat roof surfaces which will be replaced with a modern barrier, better insulation and a water tight membrane. To best estimate our plan of attack, we had to do a little digging. The flat surface restoration will be the final stab at keeping the water out of the floor below. But we need a plan in place early on.

David Bean liked thisDavid Bean liked thisFounded in 1839, The Detroit Boat Club Crew is the oldest rowing club in the country. For decades now, they have been rowing from the site of the Detroit Boat Club on Belle Isle and their dedication to the sport - and efforts to keep the boathouse standing is laudable. I knew little of the sport, or their incredible outreach to city youth until my interest in restoring the boathouse 2 years ago. In the time since I have become a big fan of rowing and realize the importance of our restoration is more than just saving the structure. We will give an updated home to both the rowing and sailing programs and see that their impact in the city is felt for generations to come. Why else would I get up at all hours to watch them row...besides this early morning view of the Detroit skyline.

EDUCATION AND THE MOBILITY INDUSTRY MichAuto, the association that is dedicated to promoting and growing the auto industry in the state, released its State of Mobility 2025 report on Dec. 10. Among its top findings were the following: Michigan's auto industry must innovate and attract new talent to maintain its global leadership position. The state faces intense competition from China, which is rapidly advancing in EV technology and production. Improving K-12 education, infrastructure, and affordable housing is crucial for attracting a skilled workforce. "Whether you work in the factory or on the connected vehicle, all jobs are requiring a higher degree of digital interface and skilled training," said Glenn Stevens, CEO of MichAuto. However, the industry faces a perception crisis among youth, with many indicating they would not consider it for a career. Many cite a lack of awareness of jobs beyond engineering and manufacturing, unclear educational pathways, and misunderstood working conditions as the reasons for not considering a career in the auto industry, the report said. Stevens said the industry must change those perceptions. While I found manufacturing and sales numbers quite interesting, I was shocked by how poorly we are preparing our students for the jobs of the future - both in autos and elsewhere. "We’re in a competition for technical talent at all levels with everyone," Stevens said. An area in the high schools that needs attention is with providing counselors to show young people the way into an autos job, that's especially important given that the current autos workforce, especially in the factories, are aging out. While the American School Counselors Association recommends a 250-to-1 ratio of students to school counselors, the national average is actually 376-to-1 for the 2023-24 school year (most recent available). MICHIGAN RANKS SECOND TO LAST AMONG STATES WITH A RATIO OF 573-to1! Once again, it is Michigan’s Educational Structure that is failing our students! https://lnkd.in/gj-cJRT9
