Ed Omland shared thisI’m excited to share that I’ve joined Lumen Technologies as Vice President, New Service Delivery, on the Connected Ecosystem leadership team. My focus is to co-create, pilot, and scale new services with our partners, linking technology and economics to drive better outcomes for customers. I’ve had the privilege of building and scaling emerging technologies at the industry’s largest tech companies. Now, I’m helping enable Lumen Connected Ecosystem partners to do the same. With Lumen’s powerful network and digital platform, we’ll expand reach, accelerate adoption, and deliver a seamless, digital experience so partners can move faster and customers see value sooner. If you’re ready to co‑innovate and take new services from idea to impact, I’d love to connect. Ed Omland liked thisEd Omland liked thisToday I'm reflecting on my first six months at Lumen Technologies as a Partner Engagement & Sales Manager. I'm grateful for the chance to learn, grow, and be part of a team focused on helping businesses better connect and use their data. I'm genuinely excited for what's ahead. What excites me most? We get to build things! Anyone who's worked with me knows I light up in conversations about building things. In past roles, that was around OEM, ISV, and SaaS, and around people and processes. Those are the spaces where ideas flow and where companies and individuals figure out how to create things that didn't exist before. I love the challenge, the collaboration, the fast pace, and the scale. What's made these six months special, though, is the people. On our Connected Ecosystem team I'm surrounded by some of the smartest, most passionate, and most grounded people I've worked with. From day one, I've felt welcomed, supported, and valued. I'm equally grateful for Lumen's leadership and the principles that guide how we work: Teamwork, Trust, Transparency, Clarity, Courage, Customer Obsession, Growth Mindset, and Respect. Here's to building what's next. 🚀 #ConnectedEcosystems #LumenTechnologies #Partnerships

Ed Omland liked thisEd Omland liked thisI am incredibly excited to be joining Anthropic at a pivotal moment in our collective history. What stands out to me isn't just what Anthropic is building, but the care and thoughtfulness behind how it's being built. The commitment to creating powerful AI responsibly and in a way that genuinely benefits humanity is something I deeply believe in. After just one week, I've been blown away by the caliber of people here. The talent is remarkable, but even more impressive is the sense of purpose and energy across the company. This is a special place, and I'm grateful to be part of it. A huge thanks to Jonathan Hunt and Paul Smith for the trust and the opportunity to be part of this journey. Let's go.

Ed Omland liked thisEd Omland liked thisClosing My AWS Chapter (For the Second Time) — Nearly a Decade Across Singapore, ASEAN & APJ It’s more than just a sticker on my laptop — it’s been the heartbeat of my journey. That “Think Big” sticker reminded me daily of curiosity, urgency, and the Day 1 mindset. Today, I’m hanging up the badge — but I carry these lessons, mindset, and relationships with me. I joined AWS before the Partner Network (APN) even existed in 2012. Returning as a boomerang employee gave me a unique perspective on how far we’ve come. Back then, I saw what it meant to be “Born in the Cloud” — before the term even existed. Over nearly a decade, I worked closely with Global Technology Partners — helping them scale offerings, build GTM models, and grow via AWS Marketplace — turning bold ideas into globally competitive, cloud-native businesses. Watching partners evolve from “new born in the cloud” → industry leaders — and now supporting the next wave through Generative AI — has been one of the most inspiring parts of my journey. Along the way, I learned the hard truths of building partner ecosystems — what works, what doesn’t, and the discipline, patience, and trust it truly takes. But what made this journey meaningful wasn’t just the scale or milestones — it was always the people. To the partner founders who trusted us early, To the customers who took bold bets, And to my colleagues who went through long hours and the grind across time zones — thank you. I’m especially grateful to the AWS leaders and mentors across APJ and ASEAN who challenged me, backed me, and created opportunities across both chapters of my journey. What stays with me most is the Day 1 mentality. Guided by the Bhagavad Gita (2.47): “You have a right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions.” Every morning is a new beginning. Every challenge is a problem to solve. Every decision is an opportunity to create impact. Growth and purpose are daily practices — not destinations. As I turn the page, I carry forward the relationships, Day 1 perspective, and hard-earned lessons from this journey. I’d love to stay connected with Amazonians, partners, customers, and the broader tech community. It has truly been a privilege. The next chapter is just beginning. #AWS #APJ #ASEAN #Singapore #Leadership #PartnerEcosystem #Cloud #GenAI #BornInTheCloud #Day1 #Gratitude #NextChapter #Marketplace #GlobalTechPartners #Borninthecloud

Ed Omland liked thisEd Omland liked thisAfter almost four years as a full-time employee and 6+ as a vendor, March 20th marked my last day at Microsoft. Unlike many of my coworkers, I've left by choice to pursue being a full-time parent (but in all honesty, do you ever stop being a full time parent even when working?!) This decision was made immensely difficult because of the relationships I have built with folks over the years. Many thanks to my managers Christian Sadak, Jamey Baumgardt, and Jason Kilpatrick for your continued support over the years, and for the unwavering leadership of our studio lead Lisa Mueller as we navigated constant unknowns. It's been a week of story times, baby cuddles, diapers, and sunshine strolls and I've gotta say I don't miss the grind at all. After experiencing five rounds of layoffs and seeing the one step forward, two steps back methodology of AI implementation, my mind is free from the burden of "what-if". My life is this moment. Taking care of those around me. And choosing action versus reaction. Okay bye! 👋

Ed Omland liked thisEd Omland liked thisI've been working more closely with my dad - Mike Manazir - lately. What he teaches about leadership is what I've been watching my whole life. Not in a formal, sit-down-and-listen-to-this-story kind of way. It's in how he shows up. How engaged he is when listening to you. How responsive he is to texts and calls. (Even, maybe even especially, when they're photos of your dogs being silly.) How those responses aren't just a thumbs up or heart. Same with my mom. There's a throughline in the way both of them show up: Be good to people. And it's the bottom line when it comes to good leadership. This week, we talked about one key piece of it: Transparency. What does it look like to lead in the light? Where people understand what's happening and why. Versus leading in the dark where decisions get made around people instead of with them. We sketched some of this out together, and I keep thinking about how often transparency felt like a novelty in my corporate career. The reasons are what you'd expect in a complex, matrixed organization: People are busy. Others aren't sharing. The worry that the entire plan isn't ready so none of it can be shared. The belief that sharing less keeps people focused on their work. (Pro tip: it rarely works that way - people don't stop wondering just because you aren't sharing.) But when transparency is provided, Teams can better understand their role in the mission. People are given more runway to find creative solutions. There can be more receptivity to a complex situation. Trust in leadership grows a lot faster than if information is kept under lock and key. It's not complicated. But it does takes intention and consistency. It takes understanding context - good judgement about what to share, when to share it and how. This isn't about giving perfect information. Your team, your people - they just need transparency to understand where they stand. Want more of this kind of leadership thinking? Ed Omland liked thisEd Omland liked thisI'll be in Singapore at the end of April. I only need one yes. While speaking to former colleagues at AWS, an idea emerged. What if we hosted a free workshop for professionals who recently lost their job? Redundancy isn't just financial. It shakes identity. Confidence drops. The nervous system goes into threat mode. The workshop would focus on: • Rebuilding identity beyond job title • Understanding the biology of stress and uncertainty • Regaining grounded confidence I'm not charging for this. We'd keep it intimate, maximum 30 people. What we need: • A venue in Singapore • A sponsor for light catering • The intention to build community, not just host an event If you're in Singapore and can help with space or sponsorship, or know someone who can, please message me. Sometimes rebuilding starts with one room, one evening, and one group of people deciding they're not done yet.

In the VMware Cloud Foundation Division here at Broadcom, we believe the answer to a hardware crisis like the one we are experiencing isn't more hardware—it’s building a modern private cloud based on smarter software. In my most recent blog, I explain how the innovations we are building into VCF 9 are the answer. https://lnkd.in/gzSNM9mG
