Credits to Eva Gysling, OLY , make sure to follow! ________ Think integrity in leadership doesn't matter? Think again. It's the cornerstone of trust. “Look for 3 things in a person: intelligence, energy, and integrity. If they don’t have the last one, don’t even bother with the first.” Warren Buffet Your values mean nothing without actions. The leaders who master integrity don't just outperform. They create workplaces where people thrive, and results follow naturally. 9 hidden powers I have learnt over time that set them apart: 1. They make unpopular decisions without fear 🛡️ ↳ They choose long-term right over short-term easy 🌟Create a safety zone where innovation thrives without fear of blame 2. They apologize quickly and move on ⚡ ↳ They own mistakes without defensiveness 🌟Transform errors into learning opportunities rather than failures 3. They price integrity into their decisions 💰 ↳ They calculate the true cost of compromise upfront 🌟Eliminate the exhaustion of living inconsistently across situations 4. They create psychological safety by design 🔑 ↳ They reward honesty, especially when inconvenient 🌟Unlock creative solutions that emerge only when people feel safe 5. They separate facts from stories 🔍 ↳ They state reality before adding interpretation 🌟Resolve conflicts by focusing on shared facts instead of narratives 6. They admit knowledge gaps immediately 🧠 ↳ They say "I don't know" before seeking answers 🌟Remove perfectionism barriers that block authentic contribution 7. They match their private and public messaging 📱 ↳ Their casual conversations match formal communications 🌟Eliminate the anxiety of guessing what's "really" happening 8. They follow through on micro-commitments 📌 ↳ They honor small promises like formal contracts 🌟Build genuine trust that makes constant verification unnecessary 9. They enforce standards consistently across all levels 📊 ↳ Star performers and newcomers face identical standards 🌟Create a workplace where fairness is experienced, not just discussed ❌ Integrity isn't about perfection ✅ It's about consistent choices that compound over time Which of these powers helps strengthen your team's culture? He has been counting down like a kid before summer break. What he has not fully processed: Friday we load the truck and head south for the winter, and Monday he reports to me. This week: a real job, a real boss, and a time clock. Next week: the boss is his wife and 5 is a suggestion. Enjoy it, babe. Four more days. #Countdown #FamilyBusiness #KLDConsulting

A shoutout to Ford’s PR team for its deft — and remarkably restrained — response to CEO Mary Barra’s audacious claim that General Motors in a few years will surpass Ford as the No. 1 automaker in the U.S. Long before President Trump’s election, Ford was promoting that it has been America’s No. 1 auto producer since 2009 and the leading exporter of American-assembled vehicles. “That’s who we are and who we always have been, regardless of policy or tariffs,” a Ford spokesman said in response to Barra’s claim. “If other automakers who rely heavily on importing foreign-made cars into the U.S. are now ‘getting religion,’ that’s good news for U.S. communities. But they have a long way to go to match Ford’s commitment to America.” The PR professionals who crafted that statement showed admirable restraint omitting the obvious: GM owes its continued existence to U.S. taxpayers. That GM is only now rediscovering its patriotic footing is telling. GM can legitimately boast that it is the largest automaker in Mexico, where it employs roughly 25,000 workers and recently announced a $1 billion investment at an EV factory there. Barra continues to describe EVs as GM’s “North Star,” and three of the most affordable EVs most likely to survive are manufactured outside the United States. GM has also announced a $300 million investment in South Korea to support the development and production of vehicles exported to the U.S. By contrast, GM’s U.S. manufacturing footprint for the near term is shrinking. The company just permanently laid off roughly 1,100 workers at Factory Zero in Detroit, where it builds high-priced electric trucks and SUVs amid softening demand and whipsawed production schedules. Ford’s electric F-150 Lightning outsold GM’s EV trucks and SUVs by a wide margin. Even so, Ford has halted Lightning production, pivoted toward hybrids, and delayed further EV expansion — a sober acknowledgment of market realities GM has trailed Ford admitting. Barra’s credibility problem isn’t new. She previously claimed GM’s autonomous Cruise unit would generate $50 billion in annual revenue by 2030 and that GM would outsell Tesla in EVs by the end of 2025. Barra shut down Cruise’s business in 2024. Execution issues continue to undercut Barra’s rhetoric. GM recently recalled about 80,000 Mexico-built 2025 and 2026 Chevy Equinox EVs because software failed to generate the federally required pedestrian warning sound — the same defect that prompted a recall of the 2024 model year. These are not the kinds of software lapses one expects from a professed cutting edge technology company that claims to attract the best and brightest in Silicon Valley. Audacious claims are easy. Delivering on them is harder. GM’s record increasingly suggests that Mary Barra excels at the former while struggling with the latter.

⚡ GM has issued a service update for the 2025 GMC Sierra EV, correcting rear suspension torque specs. Dealers will apply the fix during routine maintenance. 🚗🔧 General Motors has issued a new service update affecting the 2025 GMC Sierra EV. The issue involves improper torque specifications for the rear lower control arm bolts, which could impact suspension performance and rear wheel alignment if left uncorrected. Tagged under campaign N252507500, the update also applies to certain 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ units that share the same BT1 platform. According to GM, the repair involves a rear wheel alignment followed by tightening four rear lower control arm bolts to 369 foot-pounds (500 Nm). No replacement parts are required, but technicians must use a high-capacity torque wrench due to the unusually high torque specification, according to GM Authority. Most operational mistakes aren’t about bad judgment, they’re about isolation. In this Gain Traction Podcast clip, Chuck Space of the Texas Tire & Automotive Association reframes how experienced operators actually make decisions when new services, vendor issues, or gray areas show up. If you lead a business and still rely on solo problem-solving, this perspective challenges that habit in a practical way. https://lnkd.in/g9m3qESQ #gaintractionpodcast #automotiveaftermarket #independentrepairshops

What Most People Miss About Dealership Consolidation Automotive dealership M&A is often framed as a valuation story. Multiples. Inventory. Throughput. Market share. But consolidation is rarely just financial. It’s institutional. When a multi-rooftop group acquires a store, the real integration risk isn’t just EBITDA — it’s culture, incentive alignment, and operational clarity. Three structural tensions show up repeatedly: • Founder-led intuition vs. institutional process • Local store identity vs. centralized efficiency • Short-term performance pressure vs. long-term capital discipline History teaches something useful here: Institutions don’t fail because they expand. They fail when structure lags growth. The same dynamic shows up in higher education, nonprofit systems, and founder-led finance companies. Scale stresses clarity. The financials tell you if a deal works on paper. Structure determines whether it works in practice. Curious how operators think about this: When evaluating a dealership acquisition, what integration risk worries you most beyond the numbers?
