John Stodter reacted on thisJohn Stodter reacted on thisToday marks the end of a decade-long Diageo chapter. And while I hesitated adding this post to the many that have surfaced here the last three months, it felt important take time to reflect on all of the work that I was a part of and the people it was completed alongside. There isn’t enough space here to highlight all of the stewards, cheerleaders, and partners-in-crime I made along the way. But I do want to spotlight some: Brittany Brown—without whom, I quite literally would never have landed here. You are the example of leadership in and outside of work, and I thank you for clearing the way for me to follow in your footsteps many times over. Johannah Rogers-Omishore—you were the first to label my need to push boundaries and ask questions as a superpower. Know that your ability to see things others don’t is yours. Sophie Kelly—you showed me what it looked like to be fully trusted by a leader, often letting me into rooms others wouldn’t have. Thank you for the many votes of confidence, and for showing me that being passionate about the work isn’t a flaw. Joyce J. He Funso Faweya Hannah Bertoni Annabel Hess Allison Carrick Bauguss Ratula Milly Shome Bianca Goins Kelly Moran Ruth Ingram Bess Hughes Ariela Orejuela Abby Wise Tami Spire Kristina Knight Victoria David—an absolutely brilliant group of marketers and innovators alongside whom I did some of my best work, because we centered it around true partnership. Be it Baileys, Crown Royal, Buchanan's, Casamigos or Ketel One, we learned together. We fought hard-won battles together--and we had fun while doing it. I know I’ve left a slew of people out; a shoutout is owed to the NAM Planning & Innovation teams, especially. And while I didn’t begin this post intending to shine a light solely on the women in my Diageo life, it felt important to do so as I mulled over the last ten years. In that time, I’ve watched many of the women listed do amazing things in their careers while navigating pregnancies, maternity leave, school pickup, illness, bereavement and multiple waves of a pandemic. Together, we traveled through the peaks and valleys that come with career and personal life change. I also write this recognizing the very real promotion gap that many women battle when progressing their careers—often having to prove they’re capable ahead of advancing, rather than being awarded for their clear potential. As some of these names surface on resumes that make it into your inboxes in the coming months, I hope you’ll recognize just how capable they are: of leading, creating, unlocking growth and spotting talent. They have all, in their own way, made me a better colleague and person. And they will, undoubtedly, better whatever organization they join. I’ve witnessed (and benefited from) it firsthand. Beyond grateful to have been on this ride with them and to have seen what happens when being inquisitive and creative is platformed and celebrated. I remain forever #proudofwhatwedid.

I am feeling incredibly joyful to have played a part in welcoming this new creator cohort to the Disney familia. Creating this experience during Hispanic Heritage Month made it even more fitting and meaningful. It has been incredibly heartwarming to watch so much content roll out over the last few days, and to hear the deeply inspiring stories from these creators. We even had the opportunity to provide a little extra magic with custom product gifting and pulling off a few "Oprah-style" giveaway moments! An event of this scale takes an incredible village: • Manny Contreras – thank you for being my right hand on this one. And Mallory Ward and Evangelina Plasencia for your support prepping and organizing while balancing another event prior to this. I literally could not have gotten through this week without you! • Danielle M. Alexander – thank you for leading the charge so flawlessly, plus with Chris Palean for giving me the platform to drive with purpose and enhance the experience through the product integration. • Anastasia Ali , Nicole M. Roberts , Adrienne LamAdrienne Lam, Ariel Hernandez, M.A., PMP, CSM, Morgan GainesAriel Hernandez, M.A., PMP, CSM, Morgan Gaines, Sydney Flynn, Nicole Riedinger, MBA, Raevon Redding and Aprille Hwang, MBA – thank you for bringing so much intention, care, and authenticity into every single part of this event. • Teri J. Wing, Kristen Van Voorhis, Tyler Rowe and Paul David Bryant, Adam Dworkin - your creativity to bring stories to life through art and entertainment is the essence of Disney. • Jamie Word - beyond appreciative of your thoughtfulness and the new processes you put in place to guarantee a seamless execution. As Walt Disney once said, "It’s kind of fun to do the impossible." On a personal note, this week was especially meaningful. I had the chance to collaborate with so many partners and reunite with former studio colleagues on the Disney Studio lot—a place I called home for 20 years. It feels surreal to see how things have come full circle. This experience truly reminded me of the intrinsic value of why I wanted to return to the Happiest Place on Earth. Swipe for a few extra surprise encounters and a behind-the-scenes look at the dedication and meticulous detail that made this magic possible! #DisneySomosMagic #HispanicHeritageMonth #DisneyCreators #BehindTheMagic #CreatorSummit #LifeAtDisney #DisneyCastLife #Disneylandia

John Stodter liked thisJohn Stodter liked thisStill reeling from an incredible week last week with DTCultivate. After months of planning, it was so rewarding to bring together 50 leaders from across Disney's Direct-to-Consumer business for a week of learning, connection, and collaboration. We heard from inspiring speakers, built new relationships, shared ideas, and even got a surprise visit from our CEO, Josh D'Amaro. Grateful to have played a part in bringing it all to life and to have spent the week with such talented humans from around the world. Experiences like this one remind me why I love what I do. And a huge thank you to Anuja Dayal, Emma Zomerman, Alex Constantin, Jen T., and everyone else who leaned into this work. It was a privilege to partner with such an incredible team to make this experience happen!

John Stodter liked thisJohn Stodter liked thisYesterday, in recognition of Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month, I had the honor of supporting our employee group leaders Simon Rosales, Ingrid M., Alyssa V Gomez, and Bryce Payne to produce a panel featuring Latinx artists on our Broadway shows: Rodney Ingram (our very own Aladdin!), Sonia Monroy, Edward Cuéllar, Tatiana Nuñez, and Adriana Negron. This meaningful afternoon of storytelling and inspiration is one of my favorite events we’ve produced this year, and it just gets better every time. We hosted it in the historic New Amsterdam Room, home of ALADDIN, and filled it with employees across Disney Theatrical Group and our other NYC studios. My favorite part of my job is collaborating with other passionate leaders and adding personal touches to bring their visions to life, and I look forward to other ways we will continue to creatively produce opportunities like this in the future.

"Recruitment is only the first step. The real challenge is retention, which requires sustained mentorship, sponsorship and clear promotion pathways,” says A&O Shearman’s Hervé Ekué, who is the first ever Black managing partner of a UK Magic Circle law firm. The Investment Association, the trade body for the UK’s fund management sector, published its ‘Talent Report’ in November. This noted that Black professionals’ 15% turnover rate was not only significantly greater than 2024’s 10%, it was also higher than all other ethnic groups’." #Retention #HR
