Nick Rish shared this1.81 trillion photographs are taken each year, a flood born from the rise of phone cameras in every hand. Yet as I walk through my home, each wall quietly adorned with Teresa Rish (Photographer) photographs, I'm reminded that most photos show pictures of what’s there— she captures what lives within. While pictures frame the perfect plate, she preserves the communal nature. Where one might post the art atop a cappuccino, she finds beauty in the balance of emptied cups, in the stillness after the warmth. Where children might pose before a vast ocean, she finds joy in the unguarded moment between them. In place of the Vatican’s grandeur or a Pope’s procession, she seeks the hush—the sacred pause where power and faith quietly dwell. And while many are drawn to Kauai’s sweeping coastline, she turns her lens toward its vibrant creatures, letting its color speak in stark contrast. In a world where AI spins images from code and prompt, I find solace in the work of human creativity and the eyes that see what machines may not find interesting— grace, spirit, and truth. Art, alive and breathing, on my walls. Sony Electronics

They go hand in hand, and at times they are indistinguishable from each other.” Those are the words I shared with the team yesterday during our All Hands. When I founded Azra Games with the vision to build console-quality RPGs for mobile phones in Western markets, most people told me I was crazy. Only a few were courageous enough to go on the journey with me. During Apple’s Surprise & Shine event, we saw the first “One More Thing” iPhone moment in 9 years, and UnGodly was one of the few products chosen to showcase the new Duo's capabilities. I want to thank all of our partners at Apple, from Worldwide Developer Relations to Editorial and Engineering, and countless others. Your guidance has been critical. To the courageous Azrans and Investors bold enough to go on this journey with me. Thank you. As we approach our worldwide launch, UnGodly will have: 1. Full native ecosystem support across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro 2. Game Center Achievements, Leaderboards, Challenges, and Activities 3. Uncapped frame rates of up to 120 FPS 4. Ultra high-quality settings bringing desktop-level visual fidelity to the latest iPhone and iPad hardware 5. 4K+ resolution assets on Mac We’ve designed UnGodly from Day One to be enjoyed for 5 minutes or 5 hours, on 5 inch screens, 50 inch screens and everything in between, and I can’t wait for you all to experience a true console-quality experience on the most advanced hardware in the world. Thank you to EVERYONE, and LFG!!!!!

Nick Rish reacted on thisNick Rish reacted on thisEvery week, I get to test how my ideas and thoughts land with Jen Donahoe on the Deconstructor of Fun podcast. In the weekly This Week in Games (TWIG) episode, we track downloads, revenue, sales, and acquisitions, offering our expert analysis. All while I personally track these three signals from Jen: A: Pursed lips mean I had a bad take. B: An eye roll, a sigh, and closed eyes mean I'm onto something. C: A full head tilt to the ceiling means cut it from the episode (more often than you'd guess) Jen's facial expression is the strongest feedback signal of my week. And it costs me nothing but dignity.

Nick Rish liked thisFor the past 15 years, Toca Boca has been on a journey of meeting kids and families where they are, primarily on screen. As we look to the next 15, our ambition is much bigger, as we’re building Toca Boca into a truly generational brand that extends beyond the screen and becomes part of our players’ everyday lives. That’s why our partnership with adidas is so special. We’ve helped define the category of digital play for kids and tweens. With MINISO USA, we took another step into the physical world. And now, with adidas, we’re expanding into lifestyle, bringing together sport, movement, creativity and self-expression in a way that feels uniquely Toca Boca. There’s also a deeper purpose behind this partnership that I love: helping girls build confidence and stay connected to sport and play at an age when many begin to step away. From digital play, to physical, to lifestyle and soon to be more... we’re building a brand that can be part of our players’ lives in so many meaningful ways and across generations.Nick Rish liked thisToca Boca and adidas are teaming up to inspire tween girls to stay connected to sport, movement and play — both on and off the screen. Launching August 21, the collaboration brings adidas digital sportswear, gear and accessories to Toca Boca World, along with a new outdoor Home Designer location where players can bring sports like basketball, football, volleyball and skating into their everyday stories. This collaboration carries a deeper message of building confidence, giving space for self-expression and helping girls feel supported at a time when many begin to step away from sport. Because when girls feel confident, they’re more likely to keep playing.

Nick Rish liked thisHollywood! And games!Nick Rish liked this"How do we keep the game fresh? Different? New?" said Scopely SVP of Publishing Eric Wood. "Give the players always something new to interact with, not just from a content perspective but from a game mechanic perspective." Scopely’s approach to live games helped power MONOPOLY GO! to one of the fastest revenue milestones in mobile gaming history, surpassing $2 billion in revenue within its first 10 months. But the milestone was not just about a recognizable brand. It was about building a game that could continually evolve, giving players new reasons to return through fresh mechanics, events, and experiences. Roblox just boosted its 2025 bookings outlook, now aiming for $6.57B to $6.62B. That’s insane. The spark? Big platform-native hits and players spending more across different genres. Q3 bookings topped estimates, and Roblox is lining up for a strong Q4. Daily active users? Over 150 million. For creators and publishers, that’s not just reach; it’s a whole new scale for retention and revenue. Roblox has gone beyond just growing its user base. Now it’s all about deeper monetization. They’ve invested in creator tools, smarter discovery, and a platform that stays reliable even when packed. If you’ve got a good idea, it’s way easier for players to find it, back it, and help it grow into a business. With games hosting millions at once, small improvements in conversion or average spend can lead to huge results. Content speed is the other big pillar. New launches, fresh updates, and smart social features keep players coming back. For creators, rapid build-test-launch cycles mean more chances to try new mechanics, themes, or ways to make money. For brands, Roblox is the best sandbox to experiment with interactive ideas that mix play, identity, and commerce. The best part is getting real-time data: join times, play sessions, repeat visits, conversions. You can adjust creative or shift media much faster compared to a huge AAA title. Of course, there are risks. Virality is always changing. A breakout game can cool off fast if updates slow down or the meta shifts. Policy tweaks or changes in content distribution might impact creator income or ad placements. Roblox’s competition from other user-generated platforms will stick around. Still, none of that dulls the signal. Roblox is doing a great job on discovery, incentives, and platform scale, and that’s showing up as top-line growth. So what’s next? Watch retention and monetization for today’s hit games during the holiday stretch and into Q1. Track how much developers are earning compared to overall platform bookings. Look for any notes on infrastructure as concurrent players spike. Pay attention to brand integrations that actually drive conversion and commerce, not just brand awareness. The best results will show up through increased join rates, repeat play, and bigger item attach. If you’re a biz dev leader, the plan is clear. Optimize everything for discovery. Design for big, simultaneous crowds. Put your investments where incentives add up over time. Treat Roblox as a growth engine and get hands-on, not just a spot for your logo. Sync campaign timing with creator moments, not just one-off launches. Focus on building habits with your campaign, not just catching hype. Bottom line, Roblox raised its guidance because the creator-driven system is working. If you want in on the lift, bring ideas that are frictionless to join, easy to share, and improve every week. Build for the second weekend and the hundredth session. That’s how you build lasting engagement and big returns.

The era of the independent CTV OS is officially coming to a close. 📺 With the news of Fox Corp’s acquisition of Roku, the streaming landscape is undergoing its most significant shift yet. For years, independent FAST channel operators have relied heavily on Roku as an open, partner-friendly, and neutral distribution hub. Now that Fox is taking control of one of the largest distribution platforms in the U.S., that neutrality is in question. If we look at the current CTV landscape, every single major platform player now possesses vertically integrated content and distribution interests: 📦 Amazon: Fire TV + Prime Video + Freevee 🔍 Google: Android TV/Google TV + YouTube 🍏 Apple: Apple TV + Apple TV+ 🦊 Fox/Roku: Tubi + The Roku Channel Roku historically operated as the industry’s most significant neutral gateway its transition into a vertically integrated powerhouse changes the math for everyone else in the ecosystem. The big question: What does this mean for independent FAST channel operators? Will we see a squeeze on independent distribution, or will new neutral hubs emerge to fill the void? I’d love to hear your thoughts. 👇 #CTV #StreamingMedia #FASTChannels #Roku #Fox #AdTech #MediaTech #Broadcasting #OTT

Warner Bros. Discovery isn’t the story. The media operating system is. • This showdown is a fight between theatrical preservation and streaming sovereignty. • A Netflix-WBD outcome likely accelerates the fastest collapse of U.S. syndication economics in decades. • When syndication weakens, local stations and cable ad models lose their last durable cash engine. • The hidden casualty is ecosystem diversity: WBD has supported content breadth across FAST and multi-platform mixes. • A Netflix absorption could compress that breadth into a single-platform gravity well. • If Paramount wins: three-horse era (Netflix–Disney+–Paramount+). • If Netflix wins: one-strong, one-mid, two-weak (Netflix 1-strong, Prime /Disney+ 2-mid, Peacock/Paramount+ 2-weak). • For Korea/Asia, a Netflix-WBD deal may tighten regional rights and incentivize global-slate efficiency over local optionality. This is less about ownership and more about what media pluralism still looks like after consolidation.

Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, WB and Peacock made a combined $6.8B in Q3 streaming profits, up 42% y/y. WBD reported results today, including $0.3B in adjusted OIBDA for the Streaming segment (+24% ex-FX) on flat revenue, due primarily to the end of a distribution agreement with a former related company (AT&T?) and a one-off international legal settlement (the latter worth 2% of revenue). Advertising revenue was up 15% y/y. While all eyes are on WBD's announced process to explore strategic options, the company said they would not discuss the progress during the earnings call. CNBC reported they expect to make a decision by December. The chart below aggregates reported Operating Income for Netflix and Spotify (translated to dollars) and our modeled Operating Income for YouTube, with adjusted OIBDA for WB Streaming (no studios) and Peacock. What do you think: what option will WBD pursue?

Streaming platforms already solved sports distribution. ESPN, DAZN, Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios, and Apple Head TV reshaped how audiences access live competition. https://www.dazn.com/ https://lnkd.in/ejQ9z_ic https://lnkd.in/dST-CRBs Distribution is no longer the bottleneck. Participation is. Platforms like Strava, Nike Run Club, and Peloton Interactive showed what happens when sport becomes interactive instead of passive. https://press.strava.com/ https://lnkd.in/eD22HuZr https://lnkd.in/ePdACEe3 Watching creates attention. Participation creates retention. Retention creates economics. The next generation of sports platforms will compete on participation depth. #FanEngagement #SportsTech #FutureOfSports
