Nicole Williams shared thisSo proud of my brother for co-founding OpenLoop! Can't wait to see how much you'll continue to grow and learn. Congrats on everything you've built so far! #moneymovesNicole Williams shared thisThe best thing I’ve ever done for myself wasn’t easy. Leaving your network for something new goes against all the default human programming for self protection. But I’m very lucky to have found the right mentors at the right time that told me “you shouldn’t be ok with that”. That being a stable job that had a very linear trajectory 📶 So I made the change. And now I’m in a network that upgrades itself📈. Super grateful for my cofounder Jon Lensing and the wonderful team and network partners that continue to find us. Have we made it yet? Of course not. Are we going to make mistakes? Of course. So why am I posting this? Because I’ve felt what it’s like to go from a team of 2 to 25. What it feels like to double clients in one quarter. And I know that it’s a feeling that I want others to share with me. Shoutout to all my colleagues @OpenLoop. Can easily say I’m in the best organization I’ve ever been a part of 🙏. We’d love to chat if you’re looking to learn more about joining the fast growing team in DSM or remote. Our DMs are always open 📭. #buildingthingswithfriends

Nicole Williams posted thisToday marks my second day of my second summer internship with IBM! I'm so excited to work with this company again - especially after learning so much about cybersecurity/ computer networking last year. This time around I'll be working with an AI Apps team to complete various projects and can't wait to get started. Big shoutout to Garland Hamic (He/Him/His) and Maureen Pulscher for a great first couple days of orientation! Already learning how to "Be Essential" :) #IBMSummitProgram

Nicole Williams liked thisNicole Williams liked thisToday, with over 100 industry partners, we introduced the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform, bringing together OpenShell and Sentry. Artificial intelligence is extraordinary technology that will advance discovery, productivity, security, health, and prosperity for generations to come. But its full promise can only be realized when people have confidence that AI is being built to be safe and deployed with wisdom and responsibility. NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform Reference Design combines NVIDIA OpenShell and NVIDIA Sentry. OpenShell is an open-source secure runtime that gives AI agents clear, enforceable boundaries. It traces their actions and enforces policy as they work. NVIDIA Sentry delivers added layer of security with hardware-based enforcement on NVIDIA BlueField, continuously monitoring agent activity through a trusted telemetry and detection pipeline and enabling millisecond-scale containment and quarantine. This is bigger than a single product. It's the beginning of an open ecosystem to build the trust layer for safe agent systems. Together, we are building the foundation of the AI economy. Trust and innovation are not in conflict. Safety is how trust is earned. We must build not only the most capable AI, but the most trusted AI, so that this extraordinary technology can realize its enormous promise for the world. https://nvda.ws/4hOkDx7

Nicole Williams reacted on thisNicole Williams reacted on thisI just completed the most daunting thing of my career: solo engineering an entire platform, end to end. And its now live. When I joined the Ministays cofounding team over a year ago, we were running on a no-code MVP. It proved something important. More people are living somewhere for a few months at a time: travel nurses, people relocating for work, visiting professors, families waiting out repairs after a fire. And more homeowners want to host them. But the tools haven't caught up. Most sites are built for weekends, not for someone moving in for a season. Our MVP had its flaws, and our hosts and guests told us exactly what they were. So I started over. Every piece of it, I built myself. The booking engine. Identity verification for guests and hosts. Leases generated from each host's terms. Rent that charges on the same day every month. The hardest part was the money. Too many people find a monthly rental through a Facebook post, send a deposit to someone they've only messaged, and hope the place is real. I wanted that to never be the case on Ministays. Every guest and host is ID verified, Ministays holds the deposit until move-in, and nothing is charged until the host says yes. I wrote the code, but I didn't do it alone. I'm grateful to be building this with my cofounders Jon Wolf and Joe Shoults. Today it's live, with nearly 4,000 properties and over 3,000 users, growing every day. This is just the start. We're building the go-to place for anyone who needs a home for a month or more, and for the people who host them. If you have a home you could rent furnished, hosts list free, with no fees of any kind. If you need a place for a month or more, come find it. Link in the comments.

Nicole Williams reacted on thisNicole Williams reacted on thisTwo weeks ago, I started an exciting next step in my career as the AI Portfolio Lead on IBM's Data Platform Field Marketing team! Nothing better than immediately hitting the ground running at Kansas City Developer Conference, where I had the opportunity to connect with clients and talk about IBM Bob's capabilities. In this role, I’m excited to partner with our brilliant Americas sales leaders and marketing teams to help clients address their most pressing challenges with IBM’s AI technology. A huge thank you to Lindsay W. for giving me this opportunity and to Maria Victória Navarro for her mentorship and support. I'm also incredibly grateful for the past four plus years supporting IBM Consulting marketing and communications. I've learned from some of the best in the business and grown tremendously in both my skills & confidence. A special thank you to the wonderful Maria Fernanda Velázquez for believing in me, giving me high-impact opportunities, and teaching me so much over the past year. Excited for what's ahead!

Nicole Williams reacted on thisNicole Williams reacted on thisOver the past decade, I’ve hired and managed hundreds of interns. Year after year, I’m reminded that IBM attracts the very best early-career talent. This year was no exception. It’s been a privilege to host Naman Khandelwal and Ranya El-Shinawy on my team in Austin this summer. From day one, they created impact. They connected with each of my reps, took the time to understand their real-world challenges, and worked side-by-side with them to explore solutions. At yesterday's intern showcase, they presented an AI-powered tool that helps sales reps create quotes in minutes instead of hours or even days. Even more exciting, the solution they created is scalable across additional portfolios and teams. One of the most rewarding parts of leadership is seeing an idea move from curiosity to execution, and then seeing the tangible value it creates. Today was one of those moments. Congratulations, Naman and Ranya, on an outstanding internship! I can’t wait to see where your careers take you next. Have a great school year, and I hope to see you both back at IBM after graduation!

Nicole Williams reacted on thisNicole Williams reacted on thisThis has quite possibly been the most rewarding journey of both my professional and personal experiences so far. After spending time in management consulting, business aviation, and most recently flying planes with the cutest animals on the tails, I’ve landed at the job that I aspired to when I began taking flight lessons. I am thrilled to continue growing and learning alongside the team at Delta Air Lines for the next 38 years of my career. Delta always felt like home from the presence the company has within Atlanta and Georgia Tech, to the mentorship and friendship I have received from the Delta family over the years, yet college-aged me never could have dreamed I’d be the one flying a jet supported by such an amazing team. I am so grateful to every person who has impacted my path along the way, and I hope to see some of you in the friendly skies!☁️✈️🔺

I am forever grateful for my time in the Corrugated division and the amazing people I worked alongside! A special thank you to my supervisor, Duane Chatelain. His guidance and belief in me has been instrumental in my professional growth. Tomorrow I start my new role at Molex in the Global Leadership Development Program! Over the next few weeks I will be moving from Atlanta, GA — my home for the past 7 years — to Hudson, WI, where I will start my first rotation in an operations-focused role. I am extremely excited for this opportunity and am fortunate to transition to another Koch company where I will continue to learn, add value, and apply Principle-Based Management (PBM).

Nicole Williams liked thisNicole Williams liked thisAnd that’s my cue. While it feels risky to take a self-inflicted break, the time was right to leave HashiCorp/IBM. I’ve never had a plan for my career besides “give ‘em hell”. Some people find that hard to believe. Whenever I’ve been asked “what you do you want to be when you get older”, I always came back with “probably bartending” (my actual dream job), because the truth is I’ve never had an agenda. It’s always been: do right by the people based on what the business needs. And I always knew that the second that wasn’t true anymore, I could walk away. And that’s my cue. I did what I came to do and for that I’m incredibly proud. I’ve always been a reluctant leader because who died and made me the subject matter expert? Slowly, I’ve gained confidence in my ability to lead. So now I’ll join the masses and give you all advice you didn’t ask for: - Leaders: if you aren’t in it for the good of the people, what are you doing? - Individuals: if you have an agenda, great. Just don’t live and die by it. Be open to where timing, opportunity and other people’s ideas might take you. - To all the people with no plan like ya girl: turns out you can get pretty far if you have an open mind and appproach every situation knowing you’ll learn something. - To anyone else: be the person at work that makes people’s days a little better and lives a little easier. At the end of the day, it’s just a job. To sum it up: Be curious, be humble, be kind, and be ruthlessly surgical in your ability to make forward progress. After all, time is luck, and opportunity is luck you do something about. Thank you, HashiCorp (and IBM). I owe you people a lot. I’m a better person and leader because of those I got to learn from and therefore teach. It was important for me to hang up the towel while that was still true. Shoutout to the leaders that saw promise in me before I could see it myself: Adam FitzGerald Meghan Liese Marc Holmes Armon Dadgar David McJannet (and my work wife for life Kate Lehman). And thank you to my teams that stuck it out with me as I navigated what being a good leader meant. I’ve never had a plan… maybe it’s time I go get one. (Also, I’ll be freelancing in the meantime if you need help on events, launches, event content, or just someone to sit in the corner and make snarky comments: hit me up. Truly a jack of all trades.)

🚨 IBM just acquired Confluent for $11B — and the data streaming world will never be the same. AI agents need live, contextual data to function. That's why real-time streaming isn't a niche capability anymore, it's the backbone of enterprise AI. But here's the catch: with one company now controlling the dominant commercial Kafka platform, vendor lock-in is a very real risk. Now is the time to ask hard questions about flexibility and your long-term streaming strategy. We're shifting from data at rest to data in motion, is your stack ready? 💬 Win for enterprise data, or warning sign for the ecosystem? Drop your thoughts below. #Kafka #DataStreaming #IBM #Confluent #AgenticAI #DataEngineering #RealTimeData

Turns out the root cause wasn’t capacity or network… it was a race condition in DNS automation that deleted the regional endpoint entry for DynamoDB. That one missing record triggered a domino effect: - EC2 instance launches failed - NLBs started failing health checks - Services from Lambda to ECS to Connect got impacted There were three distinct periods of impact: - 𝟭𝟭:𝟰𝟴 𝗣𝗠 𝗣𝗗𝗧 𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗰𝘁 𝟭𝟵 → 𝟮:𝟰𝟬 𝗔𝗠 𝗣𝗗𝗧 𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗰𝘁 𝟮𝟬: Amazon DynamoDB (DynamoDB) experienced increased API error rates; endpoint resolution failures occurred due to DNS issues. - 𝟮:𝟮𝟱 𝗔𝗠 → 𝟭𝟬:𝟯𝟲 𝗔𝗠 𝗣𝗗𝗧 𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗰𝘁 𝟮𝟬: New launches of Amazon EC2 instances failed, and even once launches succeeded, some connectivity issues for newly launched instances persisted. - 𝟱:𝟯𝟬 𝗔𝗠 → 𝟮:𝟬𝟵 𝗣𝗠 𝗣𝗗𝗧 𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗰𝘁 𝟮𝟬: Network Load Balancer (NLB) in us-east-1 experienced increased connection errors because of health check failures cascading.
