Some of the team members had worked together for over a year and had never shaken hands. Myself included. The agenda? Nothing. No strategy sessions. No OKRs. No roadmap reviews. Instead, we golfed. We went to the spa. Raced go-karts. Sang karaoke. Ran an internal poker tournament. And let dinners run too long (in a great way). What this reinforced for me is that you can't schedule trust. You can't Zoom your way to real relationships. You build it by being in the same space. The ROI of unstructured time is impossible to measure and impossible to fake. So invest in the in-between. It’s worth every dollar.

I’ll never forget the day Yongsheng Wu introduced me to Joao Reginatto, the founding PM of USDC at Circle. I was immediately impressed by his deep knowledge of the space and his humble, approachable nature. That moment made my decision to join Circle an easy one, and I’ve never looked back. Over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to learn and grow, both professionally and personally. Some colleagues became trusted friends, while others turned into invaluable mentors, like Jeremy Clover, Li Fan, and Nikhil Chandhok, whose career guidance I’ll always treasure. I’ve also had the privilege of working with so many talented and inspiring peers— Hao Min, Rachel Mayer, Timothy Singh, Jonathan Peterson, CPA, Su Merck, Kanishka Maheshwari, Daniel Frydman, Gee-Hsien Chuang, Sumanth J., Denney Kwok, David Norton, Tao Tao, Boyan (Bryan) Lin, Cindy Lin, Maurizio Di Gianluca, and many others. Though I can’t list everyone, you all know how much I enjoyed collaborating with you.
