Xuetao Yin liked thisXuetao Yin liked thisAfter 13 incredible years at Apple, it’s hard to put into words just how grateful I feel as I say goodbye. Over the years, I had the opportunity to contribute across Apple platforms and services, including Apple Music, Podcasts, the App Store, TV+ helping build experiences that reached hundreds of millions of people around the world. I’m proud of what we built together. But what I’ll carry with me most is the people. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the smartest, most thoughtful, and genuinely caring people I’ve ever met—people who cared deeply about the details, challenged each other about doing the right thing, and showed up for one another through life’s hardest moments and most meaningful milestones. Many colleagues became true friends along the way. One of the things I’ve learned throughout the years at Apple is this: when in doubt, do the right thing. That’s something I’ll continue to carry with me wherever I go. Next, I’ll be spending time with my family in Kosovo and Albania, and I’m excited for the experiences, opportunities, and connections that lie ahead.

Our team does research on how to evaluate AI systems, then works with platform engineers to bring those methods to life as production tools used by engineers across Apple. You'll lead a growing research team of ML researchers, with a strong publication culture as a core goal, working on problems like LLM-as-judge calibration, benchmark design, preference learning, and evaluation validity. A strong candidate will have a PhD in CS, ML, or a related field, experience leading research teams in industry, a publication record at top AI/ML venues, and genuine depth in evaluation as a research area in its own right.
