After 20 years of building growth systems for the world’s largest enterprises, I’ve learned one thing: It’s not talent, budget, or strategy that holds businesses back. It’s the system. In a world where AI is accelerating change, enterprises can’t afford to operate in silos. The real growth edge comes from designing systems that connect strategy, execution, and outcomes seamlessly. Such a strong perspective, and especially relevant as companies are being pushed to move faster with AI while so many teams are still operating in silos.
One pattern I've seen is that programmes rarely fail because teams stop talking to each other. They struggle because critical dependencies cross organisational boundaries where accountability, priorities and decision rights often become less clear. Programme leadership is largely about making those interactions visible early enough for the organisation to act before they start undermining delivery.
