My hottest take? More creators should be nominated for Emmys. Congratulations to Kareem Rahma and the entire SubwayTakes team on their nomination! Just over two years ago, I wrote about why I believe creators deserve this kind of recognition. It’s exciting to see how that conversation continues to evolve. https://lnkd.in/gcyyJptR
my hottest take? youre intentionally protecting and disregarding all of the reports about YouTubes Partnered creator DSPGaming. the community has submitted tons of proof that he should be deplatformed and your company wont even give us a response.
It's only a matter of time!
Recognition is important, but preservation is what creates legacy. Great creators shouldn't only be celebrated during their peak years. Their work, stories, and impact should be preserved so future generations can continue learning from them. The highest form of recognition is becoming timeless.
The Emmy case is long overdue. I'd extend it further, though: the creators most consistently left out of these conversations aren't just YouTube-native — they're building the largest communities outside English-language media. LATAM creators have audiences that rival prime-time numbers with zero institutional recognition. The legitimacy conversation needs to catch up with where the actual reach already is.
Los creadores ya compiten en la misma cancha que medios y marcas grandes. Tienen audiencia, confianza y una forma directa de mover conversación. En B2B también aplica: quien educa bien al mercado llega antes al pipeline que quien aparece solo cuando quiere vender.
Neal Mohan ✨This is a great milestone for the industry. The boundary between traditional media and digital creation has been blurring for years, and nominations like this prove that high quality storytelling resonates regardless of the platform. It is exciting to see how these major award structures adapt to include new formats while keeping the focus on great content.
The Emmy conversation is a fascinating one — it feels like we're watching the creator economy earn its cultural credentials in real time. That shift from 'YouTuber' to 'professional creator' has happened remarkably fast. Congratulations on the 100K milestone too — experiencing the platform as a creator yourself must give you a genuinely different perspective on what the community goes through.
The line between "traditional media" and the creator economy keeps getting thinner. Great storytelling deserves recognition regardless of the platform it's published on. That was so on point sir. Neal Mohan
Recognition should follow where audiences and creativity are, not just traditional formats. It's great to see creators getting the kind of industry acknowledgment many have earned for years.
YouTube has been the film school, the writers room, and the test audience for a decade. The Emmy is just the industry finally reading the numbers it already had. This won’t be the last nom Neal Mohan! 🙌
