The companies pulling ahead on AI aren't running experiments. They're rebuilding how their teams work from the ground up. At #CannesLions2026, Marissa Dacay of Adobe joined Alyssa Merwin Henderson, Ekta Chopra, Michelle Hillman and Preeti Saini to unpack the difference between AI adoption and AI transformation, and what separates the two.

Questions inevitably arise with AI, so what research must be done to answer the most pressing ones?

Most companies are focusing on doing the same work faster and missing out on opportunities to innovate and reinvent themselves. They couldn’t spending more time with clients and learning from them, or enabling teams to spend more time working cross-functionally to develop mew services and products. True competitive advantage doesn't come from lowering your operating costs by 10%. It comes from using your freed-up brainpower to build the next product or service model that renders your current one obsolete. Those are the companies that will survive this disruption.

Rebuilding team workflows from the ground up is definitely what separates true AI transformation from basic adoption.

Any prediction for when collaborative posts will arrive in Brazil?

AI transformation is no longer about testing tools in isolation — it is about redesigning how teams think, operate, and deliver value. In travel and tourism, this shift can be especially powerful: better customer journeys, smarter operations, stronger destination visibility, and more efficient collaboration across the entire ecosystem. The real advantage will belong to companies that treat AI as an operating model, not just a technology trend.

As a creator and #AdobePartner, I keep seeing the same tension too. We want transformation, but we’re still deeply attached to the past workflows that made us successful before. The real shift starts when we redesign the workflows with fresh eyes.

I’m currently exploring new job opportunities and actively building my professional network. I enjoy connecting with people in different industries to share job openings, ideas, and opportunities that can help each other grow. I believe the right connection can open the right door. I’m looking for a role where I can contribute my skills, learn new things, and grow in a supportive and challenging environment. Feel free to connect if you’re hiring, know of any opportunities, or just want to exchange ideas and stay connected. https://www.linkedin.com/in/katleenbuelva/

So many great insights in one panel!

Performative signalling without any actual direction or answers. "we are not experimenting"- you should - that is where the creativity starts.

I would have paid 2 paychecks to hear this share from her. With AI agents being incorporated into all my dashboards, CRM, SEO...you have to treat this as an overhaul of workflow to create a new normal. Then, you can wake up and say, "Ok, now I can have a chance to compete."
