POV: Mental Health Awareness Month. ✨ The month may be behind us, but we’re still tuned into this year’s theme: the power of connection. Across our offices and communities, bandmates came together to make room for simple moments that support mental well-being in real, human ways. To us, you don’t need a big stage to make an impact – it’s about intention, inclusion, and creating space for real connection. 💚 #lifeatspotify

Hi Spotify team, Mental Health is a priority and need of the hour, however some of Spotify promotional advertisement require immediate revisiting. The advertisement which portrays a mother-in-law ridiculing her daughter-in-law and making disparaging comments about her lack of “class” and “sophistication.” The daughter-in-law is also mocked for hosting “jaljeera and bhelpuri parties,” which is presented as something worthy of ridicule. I find this portrayal deeply distasteful. There is nothing inherently inferior, unsophisticated or amusing about serving or enjoying jaljeera, bhelpuri, or any other food. Presenting such references as a means of belittling a woman reinforces an unnecessary class-based stereotype and uses the humiliation of a daughter-in-law as entertainment for commercial promotion.

Great to see Spotify showcasing a culture that values creativity, collaboration, and innovation a strong workplace culture can truly inspire people to do their best work.

The idea that you don’t need a “big stage” to make an impact really resonates with me. The strongest cultures often show up in the small, repeatable behaviors. It's how people make space for each other, check in, and create opportunities for genuine connection!

Small, intentional moments really can change how people experience a workplace. I like the reminder that connection is built through everyday inclusion, not only big campaigns.

So true, Seema ma'am. There is nothing unclassy about jaljeera or bhelpuri - these are part of our culture. Shaming a woman for that and showing it as entertainment is in poor taste. Brands need to be more responsible. Spotify should definitely revisit this.

Being Sharon Gibson Podcast is an English show for anyone struggling with navigating through life, especially neurodivergent individuals. Take a listen and you would be amazed.

Sometimes the smallest moments of connection can make the biggest difference. Love this. 💚
