Imagine Claude Code, but for Minecraft. At HopperHacks, Ed Leselrod, Ryan Andersen, Taha Hasnain, and I built exactly that: VibeBuild. VibeBuild is a multi-agent Minecraft mod powered by Claude Opus 4.6 that turns natural language or images into 3D structures of any scale in Minecraft, right in front of you, in just minutes. Most people loved it, but some argued it removes the entire point of playing Minecraft. It reminded me of how developers reacted when AI coding tools first became a thing. If you have 3 minutes, check out our demo here:

as a non-Minecrafter, this seems fun, but I also understand why those who do build wouldn't like this as much. That said, it seems like it would be helpful to the builders with BIG dreams to get more done. Any plans to keep this up to date and tailored to player wants/needs?

I’ve been playing Minecraft for more than a decade. And I think this kind of defeats the purpose of the game, but the system itself is genuinely impressive. The engineering behind this is really cool, even if it’s not how I’d want to play.

Damn bro!! Whenever I was lazy, building a mob farm or a house, etc. I wished if someone could build it for me, just by me saying it. Well, people may argue that it removes the point of playing Minecraft. But when you are lazy or too tired and want to build that farm, things like come in handy. Also, you can add the feature for survival mode that an only fixed part of the building will be made using only the items in a given chest or inventory.

First is Git for Minecraft, now is Claude for Minecraft. what's next 🤯

I mean if you start playing a building game using ai then it becomes more like a bad movie than a game right? For sure this is a cool use case but defeats the purpose of playing the game who's entire motivation is to build stuff.

exactly, if you enjoy building software/minecraft/whatever as a process and not as an end goal, it doesn't make much sense to delegate it to AI - like why would you skip the fun part :) however with a proper tooling you can re-discover joy in this process just on a different scale, might take time to re-adjust though.

People who say this defeats the purpose of the game have no idea about the Minecraft Multiplayer servers and the cost of man hours it took to build huge and articulate structures on servers where millions of players play simultaneously. There are over 1 million players active players everyday playing the game online on these servers. This is Impressive, don't let people say otherwise!

Dude, you can't parse criticism on your project when the amount of variables and implications muddy standard criticism. It will never be a matter of how most people felt about using it. It will always be about how it exists because it can...

The backlash mirrors coding agent debates perfectly. Are players using it more for prototyping builds they then refine manually, or just full auto?

Seeing Claude Opus 4.6 applied to 3D structures is a great demonstration of agentic reasoning. High end model costs usually make this approach difficult to scale for business tasks like LinkedIn prospecting. Platforms like Outly solve this by providing that same level of AI personalization at a much lower cost and with better account safety.
