The AI ambition is real — but most enterprises are trying to scale it across an estate they can no longer fully see or control 74% of tech leaders say their IT environment is getting harder to manage. Yet only 9% truly understand their AI dependencies. That's not a statistic to absorb. It's a risk to act on This is what Vikas Ganoorkar and I set out to address in our latest blog. IBM Consulting and Google Cloud built an agentic modernization capability to close that gap using Gemini Enterprise and IBM Consulting Advantage, stress-testing it on IBM's own estate before taking it to clients. There’s a big difference between telling a client what’s possible with AI and being able to say, “We’ve done it ourselves.” At IBM, under the pioneer leadership of Joanne Wright, we’ve spent the last several years doing the hard work of transforming our own enterprise with AI, across HR, IT, finance, procurement, sales and more. Not in a lab. In a global organization of roughly 270,000 people. The result is $4.5B in productivity savings. But the number isn’t the most important part of the story. It’s what we learned getting there. You have to eliminate and simplify your processes before you automate. Leaders have to stay close to the work. And the people who do that work every day need to be part of redesigning it. Those lessons now shape how we show up with our clients. When someone trusts us with a transformation of their business, they want us to bring more than a point of view. They want us to be able to say, “We’ve been through this too.” We know where it gets hard, what we’d do differently and what it takes to turn an idea into something that works across an enterprise. That’s the experience behind our Client Zero journey. The Futurum Group captured it in a new report, and I loved having the opportunity to share our story with them— and to represent the incredible IBMers who relentlessly reimagine how we work every single day. If what we’ve learned can help another leader approach their own transformation with a little more clarity and confidence, then it’s worth sharing. Link to the case study in the comments.

Looking forward to another exciting night of tennis here at the US Open. It will be interesting to see how IBM's new tennis stat, 🎾 Serve Quality 🎾, measures the efficiency of each player's serve as the Tournament progresses. To create this new stat, IBM Consulting used IBM Bob, IBM's AI code generation tool, to create an #AI model of serve biomechanics and a 3D visualization of the court, ball and player. With IBM Bob, work that would've taken months evolved from proof of concept to full scale delivery to millions of fans in just a few weeks. To produce the Serve Quality stat, IBM is collecting and analyzing biometric data live. The numbers tell the story of the scale of this effort: ✅ 15,000 data points per singles rally ✅ 21 individual player joints identified ✅ 7 racquet positions ✅ Updated 50 times per second ✅ 1.2 billion data points analyzed during the Tournament ✅ Delivered to 14 million fans You can see an example of this new stat on your favorite players' profile pages in the US Open app or in the new personalized Live Updates feed on your app's home screen. Special thanks to Karl Schaffer, Nick Wilkin, Jenna Miller, Aaron Baughman, Marios Sifalakis, Gary Yochum, and Tony Johnson for making this experiment come to life! I can't wait to see where we take these new tennis insights.

I’m wrapping up two weeks at the 🎾 US Open 🎾 leading the IBM Consulting team who designed and developed the fully reimagined apps in collaboration with the (USTA) United States Tennis Association. This new experience is like two apps in one. Toggle between the At Home and At Venue experiences to see AI-curated content personalized to you and your favorited players. The new Live Updates feature uses AI to auto-generate a home screen that is personalized for each fan. Download the app, select your favorite players and get ready for a weekend of tennis. The US Open is a three-week tournament starting with Mixed Doubles, Qualifying Rounds, and Fan Week. During that week, my team launches the bulk of the Tournament features. We launched the remaining collection of IBM watsonx #AI innovations this Sunday with the start of Main Draw. In addition to launching the new digital experiences, I had the pleasure of showcasing our work in support of our IBM client hospitality program. This included a deep dive into a new AI-generated tennis stat - Serve Quality. We’re gathering over 1.2 billion biometric and ball tracking data points to create this new stat and associated insights. Thank you to Kameryn Stanhouse, Tyler Sidell, Kristi Kolski, Paul Pettas, and the entire IBM SEP team for the opportunity to represent our team’s work in sports. One of the highlights of my week was to present our new AI-powered fan experiences to a Women in AI group hosted by Caroline Roche and Aparna Sharma. It’s rare that I’m in a room with that many women 💪 in technology! I also presented to a client group hosted by another champion 🏆 of women professionals at IBM, Molly Vannucci 🥰 . It’s so rewarding seeing the reaction of our clients and IBM executive leadership to the work we do. It’s also so fun to see the so many fans using the app on the grounds and on the trains heading in. I’ll be back in 🗽 New York 🍎 next week for the finals. I’m looking forward to a smashing finish and hopeful for two U.S. Champions 🏆 this year. Stay tuned and download the app! Website: https://lnkd.in/eVjqhanU Case Study: https://lnkd.in/ex9Kfkx9
