  • AI growth depends on more than chips. It depends on having enough power and infrastructure to support the buildout. The Futurum Group CEO Daniel Newman emphasized that AI investment is a multi-year infrastructure cycle, with energy availability becoming one of the biggest constraints. He identified nuclear technologies, grid capacity, and data center development as critical to supporting the next wave of compute demand. Daniel also pointed to the broader economic impact, from large-scale infrastructure investment to new skilled jobs tied to data center construction and energy expansion. ▶️ Watch the segment for Daniel’s perspective on power, AI infrastructure, and the economic opportunity behind the buildout. #AI #AIInfrastructure #Energy #Futurum

  • Broad public information can tell an AI model what is widely known. Strategic business questions often require more focused evidence. Futurum adds a proprietary intelligence layer grounded in market forecasts, decision-maker survey data, research signals and account intelligence. These inputs give AI tools deeper context for questions about markets, technology vendors, enterprise priorities and buyer behavior. The value is not simply having more information in the answer. It is having relevant research connected to the question your team is trying to solve. When the quality of the decision matters, the quality of the intelligence behind it matters too. • Europe’s competitiveness challenge goes beyond trade. The Futurum Group CEO Daniel Newman says the bigger issue is innovation and growth. Reacting to Jamie Dimon’s call for closer economic cooperation between the U.S. and Europe, Daniel argued that Europe has placed greater emphasis on regulating technology while falling behind in developing globally competitive tech companies. He also pointed to border policy and domestic economic priorities as part of the broader debate over how the West competes with China and strengthens long-term growth. ▶️ Watch the segment for Daniel’s perspective on Europe, innovation, and the economic relationship between the U.S. and its allies. #Technology #Innovation #GlobalEconomy #Futurum

  • Enterprises are expanding their investment in OpenAI and Anthropic through additional budget allocations. Companies used different funding sources to increase their OpenAI or Anthropic budgets. In September 2026, 68% used new or additional funding, compared with 52% in June. Meanwhile, 16% transferred funds from another AI vendor’s budget, down from 24% in June. For AI providers, sustaining these commitments means addressing enterprise concerns about pricing, model reliability, and data governance. Those factors can influence whether customers maintain or expand their investment over time. • AI panic grows as tech giants pour billions into AI. On Fox Business’ 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺, The Futurum Group’s Nick Patience discussed the gap between increasingly apocalyptic AI narratives and the continued investment, adoption, and competition surrounding the technology. Nick pointed to the gap between warnings of imminent catastrophe and what has actually played out so far, while also noting that the U.S. continues to hold significant advantages in AI talent, infrastructure, and capital. At the same time, China’s strength in AI research and open-source models keeps competitive pressure high. He also highlighted the role major AI labs could play in influencing future regulation as the industry continues to grow. ▶️ Watch the segment for Nick’s perspective on the disconnect between AI fears and continued investment. #AI #OpenAI #AIRegulation #Futurum

  • Organizations expect technology teams to get smaller over the next three years, but the changes happening today point to a broader workforce redesign. 58% expect their organizations to employ fewer technology staff within three years. At the same time, 43% have restructured roles, 37% have increased AI-specific hiring, and only 14% report AI-related layoffs. The data points to a broader redesign of technology teams, with role restructuring and AI-specific hiring currently more common than AI-related layoffs. • AI has a place in the budget. Has it earned its place in the business? ⚙️ Futurum research finds that 92% of AI decision-makers expect their budgets to grow over the next 12 months. Only 18.5% rate their organization’s AI maturity above the midpoint of a five-point scale. 𝗡𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻. The tools are getting adopted. The harder work is connecting them to the processes and business context that make their output useful. Can an agent apply the right business rules? Act within its permissions? Complete a workflow with results someone can verify? Those questions run through this week’s Futurum Weekly. 🔹 HubSpot and Teradata put business context at the center of agent execution 🔹 SAP and Microsoft connect agents to everyday work and oversight 🔹 Salesforce’s Koa highlights the competitive value of CRM deployment knowledge 🔹 Cadence, TSMC, and optical suppliers tackle the infrastructure behind AI delivery A larger AI budget creates room to experiment. It also creates a bigger obligation to show what works. Explore the research and analysis in this week’s edition 👇

  • The AI race is global. The rules governing it may remain national. The Futurum Group’s Nick Patience discussed how the U.S. and China are taking different approaches to AI development, open-source models, and regulation. He also pointed to recent Futurum ETR data showing that about 42% of surveyed companies are using open-weight models, with adoption currently weighted toward U.S.-based models. That demand is helping increase competitive pressure and push AI costs lower. But when it comes to regulation, Nick sees little likelihood of a single global framework with meaningful enforcement. Different economic, security, and technology priorities are more likely to produce separate rules across the U.S., China, the UK, France, and the European Union. ▶️ Watch the segment for Nick’s perspective on the U.S.-China AI race, open-weight adoption, and where AI regulation could go next. #AI #AIRegulation #OpenSourceAI #Futurum
