At AWE, Oscar Falmer 📍XRCC (Developer Advocate, Meta) walked through what it takes to build a web app for Meta Ray-Ban Display. The short answer: less than you might think. Web apps for AI glasses run on standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, so there's no proprietary SDK or new language to learn. If you've shipped a website, you already have the foundational technical skills to build for this form factor. During the session, Oscar and Abhijit Srikanth (Partner Engineer, Meta) showed a step counter web app built in under five minutes with help from an AI coding agent. It pulled data from the glasses' IMU sensors and GPS, and ran on the 600×600 display. The open-source skills file they used to teach the coding agent the display constraints is available on GitHub. To make the developer workflow even more accessible, there's now a Chrome extension that simulates the Meta Ray-Ban Display in your browser. You can preview how your app renders on the additive display (where black pixels are transparent), test D-pad navigation, and catch issues before you ever touch the hardware. Everything runs locally in Chrome, so you can start building and testing today. Watch the full session to get started: https://bit.ly/4vkDjII #MetaRayBanDisplay #WebDevelopment #AWE #AI

What kind of content should you post, and on which platforms? A starting framework: Short-form vertical video on TikTok and Instagram for reach. Long-form gameplay and dev logs on YouTube for depth. Discord for community feedback loops. X for connecting with other VR developers and industry news. But the channel mix matters less than the system behind it. Part 2 of our growth hacking guide walks through how to build that system: audience positioning, account setup with analytics infrastructure, platform-specific best practices, and a case study from “Hard Bullet.” GexagonVR developed what they call "expositionless exposition," integrating narrative and game positioning into entertaining content. Their "Weapons of the Week" series and comparison videos became repeatable formats that grew their audience without requiring a large content team. Managing Meta integrations means jumping between dashboards, docs, and your IDE. Required actions live in one place. App config in another. Webhook setup requires three different surfaces. Meta Developer Tools MCP changes that. It connects AI assistants Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex directly to Meta's developer platform via the Model Context Protocol. Your agent can: • Inspect app configuration and security posture • Check required actions • Set up, test, and manage webhooks conversationally • Search Meta developer documentation in-context • Monitor API rate limits and deprecation timelines One protocol. Nine tools. Twenty-one actions. All from your IDE. Read the blog and watch the tutorial → https://bit.ly/4oWw349

Many VR studios don't have a dedicated marketing team (and that's okay). Growth hacking was built for that exact situation: limited resources, limited time, but a need to grow. The latest guide from our Build Faster, Earn More series introduces a repeatable build-measure-iterate loop that you can run weekly to figure out what content resonates with your audience. It also covers how to design your game for user-generated content, where to focus your energy across platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Discord, and X, and how to define your target audience so you're reaching the right people. Whether you're a solo developer or a small team with one person handling socials, these insights are designed to help you take practical actions as early as this week. Ever look at a successful Meta Quest app or developer studio and wonder what decisions drove their growth? VR Developer Level Up is a new series hosted by Dilmer 🔜 XRCC 🇩🇪 that dives into the tools, business strategies, and workflows fueling success across the platform. Ep. 1 features four developer case studies, including one solo developer who ported an Android app to VR in a week, and a five-person startup that’s now leading an app category on Quest. What they have in common: each found a specific lever (FTUE optimization, content gap identification, LTV-based ad targeting, organic community growth) and executed on it with a small team. We also cover the latest agentic developer tools and go hands-on with Meta VR CLI. Watch episode 1 here: https://bit.ly/4bd4ei3 #VRDevelopment #MetaQuest #XR #GameDev #AI

In-game analytics start with a question, not a tool. "How long does a match take?" "Where do players drop off in my tutorial?" "Does win rate affect whether someone comes back tomorrow?" Pick one question, instrument events to answer it, and let the answer point you toward your next question. Our new in-game analytics guide breaks down this approach: how to design your event taxonomy, when to add metadata vs. new events, which tools to use at each stage, and how to build dashboards that turn data into team-wide decisions. Whether you're implementing your first telemetry event or refining an existing setup, reading the guide can help you start making design decisions backed by player behavior data. Next week at XRCC Berlin, we're running hands-on workshops on agentic workflows and building spatial web apps with WebXR, then judging the final builds. Looking forward to seeing what developers build!
📣 Our team is heading to XRCC in Berlin! 🚀 Excited to join hundreds of XR builders next week and support the developer community. We will be hosting 2 workshops: - Introduction to Agentic Workflows 🕹️ - Building Spatial Web in Hours with Immersive Web SDK (WebXR) 🌐 Alisa Kurt, Jianmin Zheng, and I will be onsite helping participants and judging the final results. Can’t wait to see what the hackers make! 👉 Thanks to 🕶️ Dinesh Punni, Anna Punni, Ashray H Pai, and the rest of their team for organizing this incredible event! #meta #xr #developers

The studio behind the hit VR game 'Forever Pets' tested their IAP pricing systematically instead of guessing. They measured what players responded to, iterated on their offerings, and saw a 36% increase in monthly IAP conversion. They didn't have a dedicated business team, but what they did have was a process: price intentionally, promote strategically, test rigorously, read the data, and repeat. That cycle is what separates flat revenue from compounding growth for lean studios on Meta Quest. The latest guide in our Build Faster, Earn More series breaks down that four-step monetization and analysis cycle with practical tactics any team can apply, regardless of size. At GDC 2026, the team behind Gorilla Tag team shared a secret behind their approach: treat LiveOps as half the product, instead of something you figure out after launch. It's a big reason why players come back time and time again. The game features regular content drops, seasonal events, and community involvement as part of the core player experience. You don't need a huge audience like Gorilla Tag to apply the same principles. Our new guide covers how to build an engagement and retention system on Meta Quest that works at any scale. New in the Build Faster, Earn More series: a two-part guide to off-platform marketing for VR developers. Most people discover VR apps and games through social channels before they ever visit the Store on Meta Quest. Yet many developers still treat the storefront as their primary acquisition channel. This guide is designed to help solo developers and small teams go from minimal off-platform presence to a focused content strategy in 30 days. It covers: • The "Four Cs" framework for nailing your game's positioning in two hours (Consumer, Category, Company, Culture). • The Triangle Test: if a clip can't serve as a trailer shot, a social teaser, and a store screenshot, don't capture it. • How to run a "Master Capture Session" so you're not recording hours of unusable footage. • Which platforms work best at each stage of the growth marketing funnel (TOFU, MOFU, BOFU). • How to leverage your players' UGC as marketing content. The core premise: small teams that lean into authenticity and iterate fast with low-fi content often outperform studios spending heavily on polished assets.
