Darren Mowry reposted thisDarren Mowry reposted thisLots of discussion out there about our next model, so I wanted to give an early look as soon as possible. Introducing Gemini 4 Argon! It shows frontier performance in complex workflows, cyber defense and software engineering. Teams are using it extensively at Google, from coding to quantum computing, great feedback. Importantly Argon has frontier safeguards and we are rolling it out responsibly - it’s with the US gov’t and going to a set of trusted cyber defenders through our Fairwind Program today. We’re going to make it available as soon as we can and as safely as we can. So hold tight, lots more coming, and you’re going to see us iterating rapidly. https://lnkd.in/gTiQb7DA

Darren Mowry shared thisFounders have been clear that there is a need for models that span frontier, workhorse, and open weight capabilities to help them build innovative solutions. My recent trip to Asia really cemented that requirement in my brain, and I wanted to be sure that we shared the way that Google's approach to models meets this moment (and these needs). My latest blog focuses on the power (and place) of open weight models with a specific focus on Gemma, our open weight model that shares the same DNA and developer tooling as Gemini and our growing frontier and workhorse models. Darren Mowry shared thisThe very best part of my job is the opportunity I have daily to speak to founders and inventors seeking ways to grow businesses at lightning speed. At times of incredible technical advancement, it can be easy to shift from being a founder to being a systems integrator - working across hyperscalers, AI chip providers, model providers, agentic platforms, data and analytics services, security companies, and collaboration stacks to build a product and build a business. Helping founders return to being founders and spending less time in the fray is a responsibility that we take so seriously. Darren Mowry reposted thisDarren Mowry reposted thisGoogle's economists this week released an exceptional expansion of their AI & the Economy ATLAS research (Activity, Task, Landscape, and Adoption Study). ATLAS is the world’s most comprehensive study of real-world AI usage, developed with insights from 15 million de-identified interactions across Google’s tools and products, spanning more than 150 countries, 140 languages, 800 occupations, and 4,000 tasks. The new release includes an interactive, open-access experience that makes ATLAS’s millions of global data points easier to engage with. One of my favorite updates, with research from Google, Google DeepMind and MIT FutureTech, indicates that scientists are using AI at a higher rate than many other occupations and that they save almost 7 hours a week with AI – freeing up time for more research. Notable insights by country: i) the US is leading in technical AI adoption, with computer and mathematical occupations accounting for 30% of work-related AI usage, double the share in the rest of the world; ii) although AI adoption generally correlates with a country’s income level, countries like Brazil and the UAE stand out with higher adoption rates than their GDP per capita would predict. Darren Mowry shared thisThis week's Gemini Startup Forum: Cybersecurity (in London) was an absolute home run!! 🇬🇧✈️ Bringing together 33 of the most promising cybersecurity startups—meticulously selected from over 300 global applications—the energy in the room was palpable as founders engaged in deep-dive sessions with mentors from Google AI, DeepMind, Wiz and Google Threat Intelligence. These founders are solving the hardest, most complex security challenges by leveraging our open, flexible, and integrated AI stack. Over the intensive program, we focused on three critical areas to help them scale-up:🛡️ Strategic Springboards: Exploring Google's security vision, pioneering agentic defenses, and putting frontier AI to work directly on startup roadmaps.🏢 Enterprise Readiness: Unpacking the mind of real-market CISOs to understand how enterprise buyers evaluate, budget for, and procure trusted software.📈 Co-Selling & Distribution: Utilizing Google Cloud as the premier hyperscaler GTM engine to co-sell, distribute, and unlock lifelong founder networks. A massive thank you to our incredible speakers who provided such high-impact insights, including Sandra Joyce for a phenomenal keynote, and thought leaders such as Roy Katz, Nick Godfrey, Alia L., Luna Schmid, Tehila Gourary, and Gus Martins, among others. We are making it clear that Google Cloud is the absolute best place for security startups to build, scale, and responsibly deploy AI. We are truly just getting started! #GeminiStartupForum #Cybersecurity #BuildwithGemini Huge kudos to the team behind the scenes: Sofía Benjumea, Miguel Burguete, Tamara Lucas, Beatriz Imedio, Noam Feinstein, and Marcos Guasp Teschendorff

I open the door, about to drive. And there is no steering wheel :) ⠀ I go back to the other side. The next day, it happens to me again. ⠀ You live in one place for a long time. You get used to certain things. You know how to drive your car. You know which doctor to call. ⠀ When you relocate, everything is shuffled. You need to relearn stuff: → Recycling → The pharmacy → Where to park → How to get a handyman → Who to call in an emergency ⠀ It can be a little bit overwhelming. It's amazing for the brain. I hope :) ⠀ I feel like it's giving me a lot of good energy. I'm excited. I'm exploring new stuff. I'm meeting a lot of amazing founders & investors (In the next post) ⠀ What did you have to relearn after a move? ⠀ ♻️ Repost if you found this helpful. 🔔 Follow me, Yuval Passov for weekly insights on startup growth, founder wellness, and leadership in the age of AI.

Building early-stage #startup is hard, high-stakes, and often lonely. You don't have to build in a silo. We’ll help you scale the infrastructure (#AI and/or #cloud), capital connections, and tech to back it up. Hitting a new milestone this autumn? Our Google for Startups has been working hard behind the scenes to create a much more hands-on, tailored experience for builders especially if you are an AI-first founder. Recently, we published a piece on the Slush blog about what it really takes to scale, and what we are bringing to the ground in Helsinki to help you build faster. Give it a read and see if you can read between the lines on what is new this year (if you haven't guessed it yet! 👀). Who is coming to #Slush2026? Raise your hand in the comments! Darren Mowry reacted on thisDarren Mowry reacted on thisYou can’t fake empathy for founders. You either get the grind, or you don’t. Being married to an early-stage founder, I see it every day…the late nights, the pivots, the sleeplessness, and the sheer grit it takes to build something out of nothing. That perspective makes my next chapter deeply personal: I’m thrilled to be leading North America Startups Acquisition Sales at Google Cloud! Having led sales teams across Data Cloud and AI Infrastructure over the years, I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to build real data moats and scale compute efficiently. Now, I get to put that foundation directly in the corner of our founders. I’ve spent the last few weeks seeing our Startups team in action, and I am genuinely in awe! Their passion for founders is unmatched – rolling up their sleeves, clearing roadblocks, and truly going to bat for builders. Right now is the hardest and most exciting time to be a founder and hearing them gush about how meaningfully we show up for them has been the best validation yet! Our goal is simple: bring the best of Google to help founders reach their next critical milestone. A career is built on the people who back you along the way - while there’s an army behind my growth, a few key people stand out for this chapter: Moritz Schoenheit for taking a bet on me to lead AI Infra, Chris Porter for investing in and supporting my growth, Brian Goldstein for always picking up my calls to stress test my career strategy! Thank you. 🙏 And a huge thank you to Scott Barneson and Darren Mowry for your trust in having me lead alongside you during such a pivotal era for Startups. To all the founders grinding in the trenches: we see you, we respect the hustle, and we’re ready to build with you. Let’s go! ✨ Farris Pine, Jason Hatala, Michael Shemeta, Samantha Perrone, Tiffany Blankenship, Alex Damsgaard, Collin Sullivan, Shakil Langha, Simon B., Zoheb Munshi, Jane Paek

Darren Mowry liked thisWhat do founders actually need from an AI stack? Across the startups we work with, we’re seeing three priorities come up again and again: flexibility, strong price performance, and an end-to-end stack that can grow with the business. As the AI ecosystem expands, founders shouldn’t have to spend more time stitching together infrastructure than building products for their customers. They need the freedom to choose the right models for each workload, while having the tools around them to move from an idea to production and scale. Founders are putting that into practice across Gemini models, GPUs and TPUs, BigQuery, GKE, Cloud Storage and more, building across industries including healthcare, robotics, cybersecurity and creative tools. Darren Mowry breaks down the three things today’s AI startups are looking for in their stack and what that means for founders building what comes next. 👇The three things today's hottest startups are looking for in their AI stack | Google Cloud BlogThe three things today's hottest startups are looking for in their AI stack | Google Cloud Blog
