Today, we released findings showing that renters who engage with AI Assist, the EliseAI-powered AI leasing agent embedded in Zillow Rentals listings, are on average 43% more likely to apply for an apartment 📈 Alongside the 43% boost in application rates, renters who engaged with AI Assist were: ⬆️ 19% more likely to book a tour ⬆️ 24% more likely to sign a lease AI Assist is available to Zillow's multifamily partners with more than 450 units in their portfolio at no additional cost. Most people know Taylor Morrison as a homebuilder. What's buried in the Berkshire acquisition news from this week is they also run thousands of build-to-rent units through their Yardly brand. Berkshire is paying ~$8.5B for a homebuilder and a serious rental housing business. Zillow Research dropped today that adds a ton of context to why this deal makes even more sense. In Seattle, Austin, LA, and across the Bay Area, renting beats buying financially for somewhere between 17 to 30 years. These are some of the biggest, most in-demand rental markets in the country. A renter finds an apartment they want to tour, they submit their contact information, and then wait for someone to call them back - this is a great example of the friction in renting I discussed with RISMedia last week. Fixing it might not feel transformational but it ruins conversion every day. The team has been pushing solutions and we have now doubled the number of touring providers integrated with Zillow Rentals. Now more renters can book a self-guided, virtual, or in-person tour instantly, directly from our listings. No phone calls. No unanswered emails. No waiting. The data backs it up: renters who book an instant tour are more than three times as likely to sign a lease. Properties using it see a 6.8% higher lead-to-lease conversion rate. Today, we’re announcing the expansion of our Instant Tour Scheduling feature, doubling our network of integrated touring providers from 8 to 16 📈 On more Zillow listings than ever, renters can book a self-guided, virtual, or in-person tour instantly, with real-time availability and no back-and-forth. Zillow's internal data shows that renters who book an instant tour are 3.4 times more likely to sign a lease than those who submit a standard inquiry, and properties with the feature enabled see a 6.8 percent higher lead-to-lease conversion rate compared to comparable buildings without it.
