Gabriel Coelho-Kostolny shared thisSushma and the rest of the Ent team are some of the most talented folks I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Looking forward to seeing them broadly adopted!Gabriel Coelho-Kostolny shared thisIn January, I left Microsoft to join Ent and today we have officially launched out of stealth. 🚀 Over the last several months, I've gotten to work alongside an incredible team, working toward a shared goal: that security should understand the "why" behind what people and AI agents do, not just log the "what". Ent is the intent-aware Workspace Security platform that reads behavior and intent as work happens, and intervenes at the moment of risk. The result is less noise for the SOC, fewer incidents, and investigations that close in days instead of weeks. Observe. Intervene. Investigate. #IntentAware #WorkspaceSecurity #LaunchFromStealth #EntLaunch Official press release: https://ent.ai/press

Gabriel Coelho-Kostolny reposted thisGabriel Coelho-Kostolny reposted thisFolks I am Hiring for a Principal Security Solutions Architect | ANZ!! I'm looking for a seasoned cybersecurity professional to join our team at Elastic in a Principal Solutions Architect, Security role. This isn’t just a technical pre-sales position. We're looking for someone with deep, hands-on SIEM and security analytics experience who understands how to drive outcomes through a use case driven approach. Someone who knows how to work side-by-side with customers to solve real world problems and can mentor others along the way. The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in SIEM, detection engineering, or threat analytics. You understand the real challenges security teams face and how to address them with data and technology. You’re someone who wants to be part of building something, not just executing what’s already been defined. And just as importantly, you’re interested in shaping technical strategy, guiding peers, and elevating customers and teammates alike. I'm five years into my time at Elastic, and what makes this work meaningful is the chance to work with great people solving hard problems. This is a strategic role at a pivotal time, and the right person will have a real opportunity to make an impact. Here’s the job profile: https://lnkd.in/gjhZcZgB If you're interested, or know someone, message me before applying. Gabriel Coelho-Kostolny liked thisGabriel Coelho-Kostolny liked thisFirst day at Anthropic today. After 5.5 yrs of building zero-to-one at AWS, with lots of lessons and experiences, I was planning to take a break. I wanted some time and space before the next adventure. Then Anthropic called and I had to say Yes. What made me say yes: → A principled and human-first approach to AI and company building. → Powerful products. Claude has been my daily driver for several months, both at work and projects outside work. → Speed. This team ships at a pace never seen before. → The people. Everyone I've met has been sharp, curious, and kind. Couldn't pass up the chance to build at the frontier, with a clear focus on human thriving. Let's go!

Gabriel Coelho-Kostolny liked thisGabriel Coelho-Kostolny liked thisAfter 17+ amazing years at Microsoft, I’m taking a career break to focus on family and personal goals. This isn’t a retirement note, not taking voluntary retirement — just pausing for the next chapter with a full heart and a lot of gratitude. 😊 Some chapters sneak up on you. Seventeen years ago, I joined Microsoft for the work, the learning, and the chance to be part of something bigger. What I did not know then was that the greatest gift of this journey would be the people — the teams, customers, leaders, partners, launches, late nights, big bets, and friendships that became such a meaningful part of my life. I have had the privilege to work on market-making solutions — from Office mobile apps to endpoint and cloud security, cloud-native SIEM, and AI-powered security — and to play a part in helping few businesses grow from early ideas into $1B+ businesses. None of that happens alone; it was always the result of ambitious teams, bold bets, customer trust, and a lot of learning along the way. There are far too many people to thank here — mentors, teammates, leaders, partners, customers, and friends who made this journey special. IYKYK. I’m deeply grateful for the trust, laughter, support, and memories along the way. For now, I am simply looking forward to creating more space for family, personal goals, and the long list of people I cannot wait to call. I am especially looking forward to the long-overdue coffee catch-ups that somehow always got pushed to “someday.” Someday is finally getting on the calendar. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my Microsoft story. I leave with immense appreciation, and I will be cheering you for the next chapters.

Gabriel Coelho-Kostolny liked thisGabriel Coelho-Kostolny liked thisLooks like access to frontier models is now limited to "trusted" developers. But trust gets proven the way incumbents prove everything (scale, legal teams, existing relationships) so "trusted" really means "big." Naturally, most genuinely new work starts in small teams that can't clear that bar. Are we calling trustification safety while we limit innovation by kneecapping the builders of the next wave of creative destruction?

Gabriel Coelho-Kostolny liked thisGabriel Coelho-Kostolny liked thisA work trip to New York City turned into something I didn't see coming. My youngest, Lucas, asked to tag along this time. He's never asked before. I was glad to have him with me for the week. What I didn't know is what he was up to while I worked. Every day he walked into the Swatch store on Times Square. Sometimes more than once a day. He was hunting the AP Swatch collab. The limited one. The one that's nearly impossible to walk in and buy. Lucas knows his dad. Sneaker guy. Watch guy. He wanted to get it for me for Father's Day. I had no idea any of this was happening. The staff started recognizing him. A 15 year old showing up day after day. Persistent. Polite. Clearly not a reseller. On the last afternoon, they had one for him. He bought it himself. It's pink. Not my usual color. But here's what got me. Lucas called it the "Abstract pink." He'd just watched me pick up a pair of Nikes in pink. Lately, half my gear runs pink because of our Abstract branding. He connected the dots on his own and figured I'd love it. He was right. I'm wearing it proudly. It's going to events with me. Not because of the hype. Because it came from my son, who chased down a hard-to-find watch through pure persistence. For those of you who don't get the AP Swatch thing, totally fair. It's not for everybody. This one's for me.

Gabriel Coelho-Kostolny liked thisGabriel Coelho-Kostolny liked thisLike so many other folks, I’m taking the Microsoft VRP. I hit 25 years at the company in early Jun and, given I was planning to retire very soon anyway, the choice was very easy. During my journey from the US Air Force through Microsoft, I was blessed to work with and learn from so many amazing people over the years on many, many challenging projects. Given the number of people I’d need to thank, I’m going to keep it short here and just say, thank you again to all those I’ve learned from, relied upon, and laughed with! As for my next phase, I’m jumping into retirement with both feet. I’m looking forward to working on spiritual growth, spending time with friends and family, travelling, photography, working on and learning from projects around the homestead (especially more seat time in the mini-ex), and volunteering where I can help. Rather than the badge and laptop shot, I'll share a peak into some past travels as a glimpse into some of the types of things I hope come next:

Annual assessments were never designed for AI-paced risk. And they definitely weren’t built for today’s vendor sprawl and silent AI feature releases. Security leaders are shifting to continuous monitoring because the threat landscape no longer respects a 12-month calendar. If your TPRM or VRM program still runs once a year, you’re not getting risk visibility—you’re getting a snapshot. The future is signal-based, event-driven, and automated. Not because it’s trendy, but because exposure lives in the gaps between assessments. This is what modern teams are asking: “How fast can we detect changes?” “How does this affect our attack surface?” “Can I quantify this for the board today, not next quarter?” If you can’t answer those yet—automation will get you there.
