I look forward to HQ2 Community Day every year, and Saturday's event at Met Park was one for the books! This past weekend, thousands of neighbors joined us for Amazon's 3rd annual HQ2 Community Day. Getting to welcome our neighbors onto the HQ2 campus is one of the best parts of this work. From the community library, to the science shows, to our small business partners at the farmers market, there was a little bit of everything — and it was wonderful to celebrate the Amazon Housing Fund's 5-year anniversary alongside it with KellyAnn Kirkpatrick and Jami Benson, MBA. Thank you to Arlington County Board Chair Matt de Ferranti and Steve Hartell for the support this year. Showing up, year after year, is what it's all about. Already looking forward to next year! Some days at work don't feel like work at all. 💛 Our Amazon Nashville communications team recently spent an afternoon at the Special Olympics Tennessee Unified Fore Joy Topgolf ProAm, and I'm still smiling about it. We were paired with two incredible Special Olympics athletes, Theo and Will. When the day began, both were a little quiet, taking it all in. But with every swing, every cheer, every high-five, they came out of their shells a little more. By the end, they were full-on teammates! And then one of our teams took home silver in our category. When they placed that medal around Theo's neck, I watched him absolutely blossom. The pride on his face, the joy, the huge smile. I don't think any of us will forget it. Honestly, I'm not sure who was more thrilled, Theo or the rest of us. That's the magic of Unified sports. It puts people side by side as teammates, and the lines that usually separate us just disappear. I'm so proud to work for a company that treats its relationships with the communities where we live and work as a priority, not an afterthought. Amazon in Action is what it’s all about. Showing up matters. Listening matters. Spending time with our neighbors, the way we did last Friday, is one of the best parts of being part of this community. Thank you to Special Olympics Tennessee for the invitation, to Theo and Will for teaching us what joy looks like, and to my Nashville teammates for showing up with such heart. Here's to more days like this one. ⛳🥈 #SpecialOlympics #UnifiedSports #AmazonNashville #Community #ForJoy

10,000 student readiness kits. 68 schools. Two days. Amazon partnered with The Empty Stocking Fund, Inc. to help deliver essential classroom supplies across Atlanta. Volunteers from across the community — including Amazon employees — packed the kits, and our logistics network and Delivery Service Partners helped get them to schools in just two days — a process that used to take weeks. At schools like Hollis Innovation Academy, these kits mean students are set up for success on day one 💛📦 #AmazonInTheCommunity #CommunityImpact #Atlanta #BackToSchool #TogetherWeGive

🚌 ✨ We hit the road across North Texas with Communities Foundation of Texas to surprise and delight 15 local nonprofits leading up to #NorthTexasGivingDay. ⭐ As a presenting sponsor for the sixth year, Amazon is proud to support the nation's largest regional fundraising event — where this year alone, more than 94,700 North Texans gave over $76 million to 3,300+ local nonprofits. 🧡 Since 2009, North Texas Giving Day has raised nearly $788 million. We're honored to be part of that legacy. 🎥 Watch the surprise visits unfold ⬇️ Vickie Yakunin Michelle Mai Jessica Breaux Nicole Paquette COMO LIONS HEART Mansfield Mission Center Camp Sweeney #CommunityEngagement #amazon

Amazon has been helping with disaster relief since 2017, using our logistics expertise and assets – planes, trucks, delivery vans – to bring much needed supplies to communities hit by wildfires, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and so on. The team has been working to expand those capabilities to bring technology to communities because we’ve learned that just as much as water and diapers, communities need power and connectivity. We've built a handful of solutions that we can now bring in when disaster strikes so that our communities can communicate with family and loved ones, insurance companies, employers, relief services, etc. With the technology built, we wanted to test it out—to see how any Amazon employee (in this case, yours truly) could lend a hand – with the help of other first responders in the area – to get power and connectivity up for our communities. Big thank you to our Disaster Relief team and all the local and national groups we worked with – I learned a ton and met some great people.

When we heard about a young fan in Michigan who loves watching Amazon deliveries roll through his neighborhood, we knew we wanted to do something special. We teamed up with Amazon Delivery Service Partner, Taylor Bahri, and her company Dreams Logistics LLC, a local business that delivers packages to Amazon customers, to surprise Lincoln with an experience he won't soon forget. 📷: Amazon in Action
